I was thinking in the application 1 only mentions if stay was over 6 months, may be be you are right then
I think you're thinking about police clearances - in the guidelines they only request a police clearance for countries where the stay is over 6 months. But in terms of security I think they check all countries that you have visited regardless of how long the stay was.

OK there are applicants who are waiting for no reason. NDVO don't usually update or say they are so busy to tell every 1 a reason for delay. If you are well over 1 year time line go ahead contact your local or even any MP of your choice. Then they will have to give an answer to MP within 7-10 days but NOT to you as I wrote above. For security there are many things they check, it is possible NDelhi Govt or Dist is delaying the reply not the Visa office even nothing wrong. I don't know your time line too.
FYI - I was told that the security check is to confirm all the information listed in the Schedule A form. Just to give you an idea of everything they check.

Like I said please relax I don't see any negatives here. Good news coming soon.
Personally I think raul_sk should do MP enquiry and keep following up on the status of the application. It's not normal to be waiting for 15 months to have the application finalized and you don't know how much longer you'll have to wait.

Hi, I am new to this terminology. What is meant by Pre arrival?.
Pre arrival is usually the mail that you get from CIC (NDVO) when your application is in the last stages , these are the Services provided and Funded by Govt of Canada before you arrive to Canada so there is no or less difficulty for new comers. And as per the conservations , Pre-arrival means that’s relationship is genuine and the Visa officer is convinced about the relationship. ( please check the older conversation for proper terminology) I guess someone mention it in the GC notes section . After pre-arrival usually within a week or so you will get Decision Made ( DM) and PPR . I hope I am clear .

I did last MP inquiry in July 2018. That time they told me if you don't get any progress till November 2018 then only contact us back.

Wow that’s not good advice. U should tell them other MP offices are more involved and give updates every 4 weeks. Maybe then they’ll keep checking on ur application

hi everyone.
I am new in this forum and I have applied for my wife's spousal sponsorship in Mar'2018.
File transferred to NDVO in Jun'2018 and its still showing "in Process" since then.
From discussion in the forum, I guess I have to wait until Jan or Feb next year to get some news.
Good luck to everyone!!

May be not that long. Some applicants they took 8 to 9 months total but average 11 to 12 months. You have mid Sept now, have 3.5 more months of this year left.
