Hi. I am May 26th applicant. No updates after Medical received. I was trying to order GCMS notes but I am confused. It says requesting information for including name and client id? Should I put my information or my wife's information who is in India? Please let me know...

If you are trying to get the notes for the principal applicant, please use their information like name, file number etc....

CIC has requested Police Clearance Certificate even though we included it with the application and has 30 days to respond. My wife is with me on Visa..so I have to apply for PCC here. but I dont know if it will be completed within 30 days. What should I do ?

Hi Guys, I wanted to provide the update. So as per the plan we sent the copy of PCC along with passport stamp (for PCC) to email to Delhi Immigration. We also asked them if they want us to apply for PCC again but we didn't get any reply. Then 1 day later, we got Background check in Progress in MyCIC on 24th Jan and now I checked ECAS today and it shows Decision Made.

Now I am wondering if we should apply for PCC or wait for their email. Hopefully it is PPR.

Visit any reputable jeweler and they take with you (in color) and they can itemize the stuff for you with details of carats, size, type, etc... this way the date and time stamps will justify you possessing these items and you can bring in those when you are landing for the first time in Canada on Immigration Visa.

For those who are here on TRV and have done an inland landing, you can always go back to CBSA and ask them for the same benefits on your second visit but with the same paper.

It is not possible to get jewelry appraisal. Here jewellers dont give under their shop name.

Is it ok to put the value according to the weight of the jewelry.

Yes it is ok, as long as its documented and self appraised should be ok. Just notarize is if you are in India (Rs 100/-).....last time i checked ;-)

I would suggest Privacy act as its free. if you choose Access to information act, you would have to pay 5 CAD for it.

When does you medical expire?

For some reason NDVO is avoiding files that reached them around the mid-week of august 2016.

I guess there is fee of $5 for GCMS notes. It`s not free. so may need to pick option 2. Wait for more info from others

I did apply for GCMS significant number of times in the past 7 years using privacy act option and was never asked to pay a penny. Hope it helps.
