Hi Layaq299,

From the below discussion topic I have understood that they either send a re-med request and then start with the eligibility, criminality and security checks or will first do the checks and then based on your medical dates either extend it or ask it again..

What did your MP say about the other checks? If they are all done and only security is ongoing then I would say it is definitely a very positive sign and you should just wait for your status to change and PPR request.. Senior and more experienced members can shed more light on this.. but this is just my opinion :)

Good Luck and Hope its good news for you, me and everyone else too .. have faith guys.. our turn will come soon :)

Thanks AH2512 ;D
My Mp said they don't need the medicals all checks are done and they are working on security then background checks

Hi Guys,

just wanted to update the forum. I landed in Toronto on Friday, March 4th. The landing process was really simple and easy. My husband was waiting for me at the airport and even he was surprised how soon I was able to come out of the airport.

I had carried many many documents to be over prepared but none of them were required, only the Passport, COPR and the disembarkation card -- which is given on the flight before landing in Toronto)

The immigration officer did not even ask me any questions. He simply checked over my documents and then asked me how much of currency I was carrying and how much expensive goods I was carrying.

After that you get sent to another counter where I had to show the COPR and the disembarkation card and passport. He noted down my address in Canada and told me that the PR CARD would arrive in two months.

After that I was given a SIN card number and instructions with how to apply for the OHIP Health Insurance card.

Then I picked my baggage and "viola" I was out of the airport!!

DM/PPR took us 11 months and I landed in Canada almost a year to the day that I submitted my application.

My full timeline is on the spreadsheet.

Best of luck to everyone, and you are always in my thoughts.

I am happy for all those getting DM/PPR requests.. but it just makes me feel so disappointed and disheartened that why is my file still waiting.. plus there is no fixed pattern or timeline for criminality & security checks so no idea when we will be amongst the happy ones :( .. trying to stay positive but it is very hard..

Did you order notes, that might give you a clear picture about what is happening. Hang in there, you should hear something very soon. God bless.

Thank you .. I havent ordered notes but did MP enquiry this week and was informed that medical & eligibility -passed and criminality check is in process and security not started yet.. So I thought best would be to wait until mid march to order notes..

I spoke to my local MP office about 2014 applicant file being forgotten and they are now processing 2015 applicants, he asked me to give me case number of 2015 applicants so that he can fasten up the process for 2014 applicants.
If you know any 2015 applicants whose decision made and who is ready to share their file into with MP Office please let me know. They dont have to share any information with me. Just directly with MP office. I can give you MP office details to you.
Mine info:

Applied: Dec 2014
Remed:Dec 7th 2015
Eligibility passed, security passed, interview waiver recommended.
Paper file location: Registry(updated Dec 1th 2015)
No update since last December.
MP office is telling me I have to wait for 17 months processing time inspite of no interview :(.

Thank you Mkrp22. Your response on my query is appreciated. I wouldn't definately want to do anything that may cause delay in my application. Since you mentioned, you already got PR visa, how long the whole process took for you?
Hi JotZk,
It took 12 1/2 months in total from the date of application to the date we received passport request.

Don't feel disheartened. Good thing is that you have completed your re-medical and the file is in process of getting DM. Stay positive. I am sure you will hear something in the next few days.

Hey,

Right now only first half of April applicants are getting update. You will get update next month hopefully. And good thing about your application is that you won't have to do re-medical since you did medical in August 2015.

Do not order notes now or do MP inquiry. Nothing would have started on ur file at this moment.

I must say I absolutely love this forum! I love the positive attitude of people in here and how everybody supports each other in this tough time. I have been a silent member so far but I need to start being more active :)

You don't need to do anything. It is likely possible that you won't have to go through re-medical since it takes approximately 1 year to process a file. Good luck
