Can anyone share the link and information of the process to change address of Principal applicant?

Thanks
Hi, Update your address @ https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=new delhi

Principal applicant has to write a letter, sign it and has to upload. I got the following message from NDVO:-

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the High Commission of Canada in New Delhi, India.

Thank you for your e-mail informing us that your address has changed. Please be advised that we require the applicant’s signature, or the signature of the applicant’s authorized representative, in order to update the address on a file.

If you want to have your address changed in your visa / immigration application, please send a signed letter (you may scan the letter and attach it to an e-mail message if you wish). The following information must be included in your address change request:

- the full name of applicant and original signature,
- the applicant's date of birth,
- the file number [Letter followed by a nine-digit number],
- telephone number, including area code,
- the mailing address, and
- a return fax number and/or e-mail address (if available)

Kindly note that your current mailing address stands unchanged and your e-mail request has been deleted. The change will only be made after we receive a request signed by the applicant or the authorized representative. We will not confirm receipt of an address change request by mail/ e-mail received at this office but the file will be updated.

Please Note: Change of address notifications for applications at visa offices must always be submitted directly to the visa office processing the application. If you are in Canada – DO NOT use the Citizenship & Immigration Canada Client Application Status system to change your address online if you have a case in process at a visa office outside of Canada. Any new address entered into this system will NOT be downloaded to your file in the visa office.

Also note that a change of address submitted to a visa office will NOT be reflected on the online Client Application Status system.

Sincerely,

One more thing I want to specify, in files your address will be updated but may be in eCAS it will be old, so don't worry. same happened with me. Sent address change 2 months back but in eCas it is still old, checked with NDVO and they confirmed in files address is updated.

God Bless

How can I apply for GCMS notes? I have read it somewhere before but I cant find it on this forum.

My dilemma is that I applied for my spouse PR in July....but still haven't received the MR on eCAS. And both applicant and sponsor still show IP and not DM for sponsor.

Thanks appreciate the help.

Hi, from one of the old post i found the following for notes :-

What is GCMS notes? How can I apply for one and what is the purpose of it?
It's better to apply once NDVO touches your file. Eg. Now NDVO is processing Oct/Nov 2014 files. The purpose is to check on the status of your spous's application. You should definately apply for the GCMS notes now.

Adivced to apply early if your Sponsorship approval is delayed..... and you need to request info about the sponsor and sponsorship.

How to apply GCMS / ATIP notes.

Only a person who is in Canada can request the notes.
If principal applicant is in Canada, he/she can request for himself and apply for free under Privacy Act.

If sponsor is requesting it on behalf of Principal applicant, you need consent form from PA and $5 fee. You can receive consent form from spouse thru email and upload it. Apply under Access to Information Act.

It takes about 30 days to receive by email. It is a ~30 pages document

Section B - Sponsor's details
Section C - Sponsor's details

Hi PGU, I am having a lot of difficulty dealing with NDVO on changing my spouse's email address. Is there anyway we can talk about this? Are you in Canada? Can you share your email please?

Hi All,
I have a small query, I am going to apply for PR this month.
However, i already have Travel Visa, so is it possible for me to visit my Wife in canada while my application is in process.
As it is processing time seems to be too long, staying away from her would be very difficult.

Just want to know, if somebody did that already, and if they faced any problems what so ever, while crossing Canada borders.

Thanks in advance.

Hi check your personal message. sent you my email address.

When you send any change request to NDVO/CIC, you must write a letter and sign it. send them a scan copy of your signed document, only after they will update the information.
normally they update the information in the files but will not respond you. You can confirm the changes by ordering notes after 30-45 days of your change request.
