I don't think the visa officer can change their decision if you had cleared the interview. my mp said my husband had cleared his interview. he pass the eligibility

HOw many Sept'14 applicants are there with AR/MR ???? :'(

my medical expired on 22 july,,do i still have a chance of medical extension or i will b prompt for a REMED ??
I applied on sep 16 my status is just application received. my medicals expired on aug 4th.
im not planning to do remeds without request. As per the cic website ur medicals can be extended upto 15 months depending on the visa officer and also the status of ur file matters. So my advice wud be to not do anything until u get a request

hi manat,
you should go in for an MP enquiry as well as case specific enquiry at the earliest possible. Find out whats the hold up about. Have you applied for GCMS notes?Maybe you can get valuable information thru the notes but then again its going to be another month till the notes reach you. Senior members, do correct if im wrong.

It's really ridiculous how much time NDVO is taking to process spousal applications. Dont they have guidelines or standard operating procedures? we see a new trend almost every second month and its frustrating beyond words at times, not knowing when we will receive ANY form of update.

Hope you get your visa soon without more delay.

Thanks for sharing the detailed information Preetinderbedi!

The application time starts from the day, you get SA. I have landed in Canada on 17th July 2015. Somebody if needbe please update the spreadsheet with info.

Also thought to share my experience.

1. Never go for remedical on ur own, in remedical only certain tests are required. When u get the remedical request just tell the doctor they write urgent on ur remedical case and get the data uploaded at earliest. Also, dont think that ur ECAS will be updated with the remedical results as in case of remedical it ECAS doesnt get updated, atleast not happened in My case
2. In case your file is decision made and you have not got a PPR in one week, please dont wait even for a day, go for an MP enquiry. There is absolutely no harm of a MP enquiries, it helps a lot.
3. About landing in Canada, it is very easy, no requirement as such to carry money. Please make sure you give canada address to immigration officer at Airport.
4. Even if you are not carrying a list of items and gold evaluation with you at the time of entrance that is not at all a problem and you can also get that submitted in any later entry into canada
5. Try to update your address on ECAS by gng into " Change of Address Option" on cic website as not doing this may lead to delay in PR card.
6. Apply for SIN no and MSP at earliest
7. Make sure you carry travel insurance for atleast three months as government does not cover you in insurance for first 3 months. Getting Insurance from India is way too cheaper than in Canada
8. You do not need a PR card to open a Bank account or for a credit card, you can do the same with COPR (Conformation of Permanent Residency) paper and passport
9. You can drive for 3 months in British Columbia (That i am sure of) but while driving u need to have your passport and copr with you
10. Please carry a proof of insurance of a vehicle (2 or 4 wheeler) from your insurance company for last 3 to 4 years, preferably insurance where there is no claim, this will help you to get a great discount when you buy a car insurance in Canada, please note here car insurance is very expensive.

I think i have listed too much :p

Last but not the least, Congrats to all who have got IP, DM or PPR & all the best who are awaiting. Dont worry you will get visa soon, it is a process that needs to be followed and takes time

Remed letter in most cases are not issues quickly. Most cases its one month delay.
Better idea would be to do upfront medical 2 months before medical expire.
If its already expired, it better to wait so that doctor office can upload it directly.

There is generally a lot of questions recently about remedical and NDVO as slowed down and a lot of people's medical is expiring before they go PPR. In generally, if you are sep/oct/nov applicants, i would recommend you wait for your remed letter as you would enter IP and it seems the remed letter are issued quickly around that time.

As for individuals who are april-july'ish ones whose med have expired over 2-3 months now with no remedical request, jsut get it done and send it to NDVO. This is what happened in my case, the med expired, waited a long time, went for it ourselves and got a full remed. After going IP, they sent us the remed request and i sent a case specific inquiry letting them know that we had already sent an updated new medical and got a reply back from NDVO after a month stating that they have received the new med and to ignore the request letter they sent. exactly a month from that email, we got PPR. so, from IP to DM/PPR for us is around 2.5 months which seems to be the standard time lately.

Remember that without a valid, NDVO will never issue a PPR or actual visa. They extend it before *it expires* to accomadate your travel but i doubt they extend after it has already expired. So, try to keep your medical always valid for you files to move forward.
