Hi,

Can we apply for "Dual Intent" only if we applied our PR application in Canada bcoz i read the following from CIC website.
"Dual Intent is present when a foreign national who has applied for permanent Residence in Canada also applies to enter Canada for a temporary period as a visitor, worker or student"

As far as I know there are people, outland applicants, who applied for such and got success.

Honestly .. no idea ..

In our case, we submitted a letter from my wife's university mentioning "She is enrolled as a student and still 1 more year to complete her degree". This was almost 6 months back ... She came here on March and returned after 15 days then (during study break)..

She will be here on June and then will be back on Sept (during study break)..

She will be done with her study on December and if we do not hear from NDVO till then .. she will move here permanently and we will apply for "Dual Intent" for the extension.

FYI: I am a Canadian PR sponsoring my wife. She is living in London, UK (not in India) and is a Nepali citizen.

Hello Guys,
I am March 2015 applicant sponsoring my wife. I have a question if in case you get an interview. How long before interview they notify you? Can I go along with her when she gets interviewed.
I am planning to visit her but i can plan it when she gets an interview call if shes gets one. This forum you guys mentioned Visa officers are pretty harsh. I would rather be with her for interview.
I have only attached our wedding pics, phone bills, my visit after wedding (boarding pass) and honeymoon proofs but no chat history or video chat. I am bit concerned if I have provided enough evidences.
Your help is much appreciated and thank you in advance.

they might notify you a fortnight prior the interview date, even few days before that. my advice would be that you must mention every iota of proof of the legitimacy of your relationship. don't leave anything behind. all the best :)

If interview is called, does an applicant have to travel to India or it can be done in local visa office.

For some reason my wife's application has been transferred to NDVO, although she does not live in India/Nepal/Bhutan (she is living in London, UK)

Do you think I should send my video chat and texting history now? Or does it raise a flag on file? I did not know any way to retrieve history before but now I have started taking snapshots of FaceTime details. I guess that's the only way of videochat history.

Counterfoil = Visa Sticker .... that means you need visa to enter Canada.

As PhdStream mention. Counterfoil means the visa which is stuck on the passport which is required for non-visa exempt country such as ours.
