Hello All,

I'm planning to apply for TRV for my wife. We are going to finish our first year together in July and are looking forward to spending it together. I see a lot of folks who are with their better halves on TRV. Could one you please forward details they included in their invitation letter or the invitation letter itself. Could either share it here or could email me on rishiraj60 @ gmail.com. I am planning to apply through VFS - Ahmedabad.

Would appreciate any help.

hope that helps
Goodluck

Hi guys,

My question is to Nepalese applicants in this thread. Have you emailed NDVO to prioritized your application (Earthquake related). If yes, what are the reasons (related proofs and documents) you provided and how long does it take to get their response?

Hi everyone,

Couple of questions

- For the spouse who gets visitor visa is it mandatory to buy a return ticket ? For example, should we buy a return ticket which shows a stay of 5-6 months or is it ok to buy a one-way ticket only ?

- What kind of questions do they ask for spouses who arrive on TRV during customs ?

Below are my experience. My wife have traveled Canada before and planning to do so until she received her PR

It is highly recommended to travel with returned ticket. We did and are doing the same. You must provide enough proof that you will return back. If possible, bring copies of ECAS screen shot, if you financially depends on your partner here in Canada then written proof that s/he will support you during your stay, SA approval letter and anything that proves your relation. I am a student here and I know few cases where a CBSA officer asked such document and even called their partner to confirm about the visit

Mostly general
- What do you do?
- How long will you stay?
- We were asked when were we married (wedding date)?
- Do you have return ticket?

For us they asked nothing.

In our case, I and my wife travel together, so no tricky question were asked.

Thanks a lot for the response ! I will get a return ticket but is it ok to get a ticket with return in 5 months or it should be showing stay of 1-2 months only ?

Yea fine .. as long as you have return ticket within 6 months no worries....

If you intend to wait for you PR from here, then buy refundable ticket. Once you are here you can extend your stay with "Dual Intent" (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/temp/visa/dual.asp)

"Dual Intent" is for an applicant who wants to live in Canada and wait for their PR under the condition that s/he will return back if PR application is rejected. We have not done it so far, but planning to do it.
