Yea KT86,

You are referring to their website as 13 months.

I m referring to their 'operating standards' from their manual.

5.6. Processing priorities

Applications for permanent residence from spouses, common -law partners, conjugal partners and dependent children have the highest priority, along with children to be adopted. Other members of the family class follow. These are operational, not regulatory priorities.

The Department aims to process 80% of sponsorship and permanent residence applications submitted on behalf of the high-priority group of spouses, common-law partners, conjugal partners and dependent children within six months

If they don't have any regulation on the procedure then it seems there is a slack in the system.

If you are a Canadian citizen, at least you can stay together even if staying outside Canada, But for Permanent resident it is a torture.

thanks iceskater, for the info, btw can i hv the link to operating standards or the manual. ? like to go thru it myself,

also i agree with Omega123 and saini0623 , i too would agree to sigining a petition, if that would help speeding up the process!

but my only question is, even though the website clearly mentions it takes about 13 months , would they take our petition seriously? wht do u think ?

Yeah Omega123, saini0623

Below is the link to the operating manual / standards.

If all of us put forward our cases then there should be some way to get quicker response. Even on humanitarian grounds, we do have a good case.

So till now we are 3 of us ready to sign petitions, but we may need more applicants to join, and this is more about the agony that we are experiencing, hence, there should be some regulation to control the time frames (If spouse work permits can be provided within 2-3 months, back ground checks are done for those as well) then why spouse visas cannot be provided within six months?

We are leaving our families, spouses plus once they arrive there are so many other issues to take care of, which should be considered, even though these issues are personal to everyone but at the end, the more the delay the more complicated it becomes to settle. Not sure but six months is a good amount of time frame for any kind of application.

We may need some proper channel to go about putting forward our case.

Hi guys, plz answer dis.
On 29th may my file ws transferred to ndvo. My ecas shows application received but i got my medical done. I read many posts where ppl say ecas status shows application received and medical received if medical already done, den y medical received is nt updated on my ecas. Is dis normal??? Anyone vid same issue??? Or its only me.

Hi Dhaliwal gagan,

We wouldn't rely on ecas status. The status doesn't reflect any proper information. Usually, for most applications it should say 'in progress' but they don't even change status sometimes.

Check my earlier comments, would be interested in joining for petition to speed up the process?

Thanks,

Iceskater
