I read somewhere that CIC is planning to "fast-track" the process and have a decision made within 6 months ... Is there any truth to this?

Thanks

No 2014 applicants got ppr request yet. I didn't open sheet so can't say what's that. But this is for sure we all are waiting for this.

Hey I am not sure where I read this but it was along the lines of the new Immigration Minister saying CIC would be making the processes faster. But with the applicants of Sept/Oct of 2013 getting their processes finalized now that would mean we'll have to wait around that time line as well. That's why I asked as well to see if anyone here knows anything more into it.

Thanks

new delhi 2013 forum page 3037...JJ got this information from a lawyer

On May 15th ,big immigration convention happened in Calgary . Attended by diplomats , foreign high commissioners , every big immigration lawyer was invited . The main purpose was to implement new plan of action designed by Chris Alexander . My lawyer mentioned this to me that they bringing in some big changes like case that don't fall under any radar will be cleared at very fast pace ( within 6 months ) and cases with red flags will have to wait extra long(13 -15 months) because they will be pushed behind fair cases . They are going to grade files and processing time accordingly . Pretty much if you get asked for interview , just consider yourself in long wait and if your file goes Into 'in process' status considered yourself very lucky . From now on it's gonna get very important to submit every document at the time of application filed , rather than waiting to see if they require they can ask . There's a article in Vancouver sun magazine about this new plan of action . That's why we have started to see so many changes with ndvo proceedings like mini interview over phone , calling temple or gurudwara authorities where wedding happened . It's extra pressure while filling application but I would say it's very good news for future genuine applicants

It's same Sukhman, 13 months. But they are actually wrapping up in 9-10 months if file has no red flags.

Hey Guys - I did some quick analysis based on new data set published by CIC. During May, June, July and Aug 2013 NDVO received a total of 2,277 applications for spouse and children category. They took approximately 5.5 months processing these applications according to 2013 New Delhi thread that I have been following for few months now. During Sep, Oct, Nov and Dec 2013 NDVO received 1,261 applications for same category. Assuming there processing speed remains the same per application it should take them 3 months to process these applications. We know from 2013 thread that Sep 2013 applications started going 'In Process' status about a month ago. Based on these numbers we can assume that Jan 2014 applications should start to go 'In Process' towards the end of Aug or beginning of Sep.

PS: this is my own rough analysis which could be wrong, don't make your plans based on this.

I did the same analysis pameyb :) Yes, there are fewer applicants in Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec. Hoping NDVO doesn't snooze and keeps working, we can expect the processing time to shorten perhaps. Then come next year (2014), again the volume of applicants will rise and things may slow down. But, for the short term, hopefully, we should see a speeding up.

Hi.. I'm new to the forum.. My husband is a PR.. I've had a bad start and already have a bad impression of Canada and the administration because of it.. We got married in November and and got the meds done.. We We did not have the police clearances then and I was told by many people to get them prior to applying.. I was studying in USA for 2 yrs because of which I needed an FBI clearance which took over 2 months to arrive..

Applied for the PR on 9th March 2014 ... When the processing time then (which was 37 days) was exceeded, we called them and they told us they haven't received our application which caused a lot of stress.. After calling numerous times and telling them that the application had all originals and we could not apply again, they searched for it and found that they had filed the application under 11th of April .. They told us to wait as it will only be a few days which turned out to be a month's wait (By which time the processing time was 57 Days)..

Got the AOR on 17th of June asking for any further police clearances and the right of permanent residency fee.. Thought I was out of the woods.. And now after reading through all your helpful posts I came to know there's still a long way to go..

SOOOOOO HEARTBROKEN right now!!! :'(

So they said they didn't receive your application at all? and then when you persisted, they searched more and found it and filed it at a later date? Thats a bit scary...

How I wish this analysis is true. I had the same analysis in my mind and thinking that I have resigned this month. I will be relieved by end of Aug, hoping for the best.

CIC has updated the dataset with the list of applications being processed till end of 2013. it looks there are not many applications in 2013 Q4 (1130 in NDVO), hopefully the processing time gets expedited now.
