Hi everyone !

Nice to see how everyone is sharing their news and thoughts.

I a canadian citizen, divorced with a child form the first marriage. I met my husband through family and we decided to get married, in november 2012. After getiing our file together I submitted it at Mississauga office through an immgration firm in May 2013. My file was received at Mississauga office on May 23 2013. On June 11 2013, I received a letter stating that I had been approved as a sponsor and that my file had been transferred to Delhi for further processing. On July 19 2013, we received an email to submit my husband's passport. So the passport wa sreceived at Delhi on July 25 2013. So, now we're just waiting.

I do want him to join me soon. But, with this strike going on, I'm really worried.
Does anyone know, whether, you can still be called for an interview after submitting the passport or does it mean that you're just waiting for a visa?

Just hoping that it doesn't take long and the strike is over. I have a couple of other people I know, that applied around the same time, but every case is different.

Looks like we are in the same boat. My husband's passport was also requested on july 19. Fingers crossed, strike ends soon and visa's are issued.

Pafso have no choice after 15th of September 2013 because Fall session is going to start on 16th september,2013.
Tim Edword and PAFSO Union have lost their hope now thats why they are in hurry for BIN ABR and goes in the doors of Labour Board and they know this is their last hope for binding arb. otherwise by lAWE of Canada the parliament will order them in fall session to return on their work and PAFSO have to return.

So its not much importent now whether on 22th august 2013 Labour Board resolve this issue or not because after second weeek of September you can see Tim Edword sit in his cabin and stamping the visas
So Friends dont worry now Pafso ne jinna sada time kharab kerna c oh ker chukke hun sirf kuj din hor ne milna ohna nu kuj ni hun ta apni ink stamp pad ch paan di tiari ker rhe ne and nvia stamps v order ker dittia ne.

this is good news. I also check news consistantly for cic strike. Hope we all get visa's and reunite with loved ones soon.

I applied in april and since then strike is on what crap ......its more than 3 months now ...hopefully strike is called off in aug or have to anyways wait till sept....at least we know that ppl are getting visa's students shld be done by now since colleges starting in sept now hope they concentrate on the family class!!!

Actually from what I know, They are providing a minimum work level for family class applications. The ones that are really suffering from the strike are students, work permit applications, etc.....
Because PAFSO knows that family class will get visa anyway, maybe union will give in to PAFSO cuz, thay are at big loss if the canadian govt. can see that. You should google news on cic strike.

I had created a Google alert about the strike.. and most of the articles just talk about the loss to the tourism industry and the student visas that are getting delayed. There is not much talk about family class cases as was said before, they know, in those cases it's only a matter of delaying the paperwork. But will eventually get done.
However, the rate at which my alerts are arriving has slowed down, which makes it seem that the issue is losing steam.
Hopefully for a good reason, that PAFSO is making their way back to work.

Keeping the fingers crossed for a speedy resolution.

Hey how come we JAN,FEB,MARCH application's are not getting DM's. What is going on with NDVO I mean other people are getting some update's we just had our passport request and then nothing.

This is so wrong as we cannot go anywhere without our passport. What is the catch here????

It is been 8 months now and nothing yet. ARG!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sailin in the same boat as you're. They've had my passport too since 9th March and no news since then...

You need to fill your name in 1) of consent form as you are the applicant in 2) and 3) fill in your sponsor's name and sign the document then scan and send it via email. Hope you are using IMM5744E form.

You can find more info at https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/welcome.do?lang=en#wb-cont these notes can tell about the status of application.You'll get back them within 30-40 days of applying. But no need to order if your case is delayed just because of strike. If there is any other issue like missing attachments, PPR then it's better to go for it rather than waiting. Do share your timeline on left side so that we can respond accordingly.

Please be mindful of the fact.. even GCMS notes processing is affected due to PAFSO... i know i am not sharing a good news..I had applied for my wife recently and the response from ATIP came like this

I am hoping i should get a reply for GCMS within 40days... Also for docs..i just submitted consent form and didnt attach any proof for my residency in canada. I enquired the same to aTIP queries and they were prompt in replying "We dont need your proof of residence and your request is due by 3rd September" which is 5th r 6th week from application (submitted in the month of july 3rd or 4th week)

I have applied for notes on 11th July and got back on 13th Aug.
