People from Manila are not getting COPR's, they are getting PPR's, they are two very different things. It could be a local admin person issuing out those letters or phone calls.

As for an update on the strike, there is a reason things are quiet right now, because on Wednesday PAFSO filed a bad faith bargaining case against the government (because they put conditions on arbitration), once the PSLRB (Public Service Labour Relations Board) hears the case and decides nothing will be done. The PSLRB can order the government to go to arbitration depending on how they decide and if they think PAFSO has a strong case.
PAFSO has asked the PSLRB to decide quickly, but we have no idea how long this will take. Until a decision is reached, then there will be no significant moves made from either side to end the strike.

Hence the strike will go on until a decision is made...

I know getting PPR and COPR are different things...but unlike NEw Delhi Manila issues COPR soon after PPR and doesnot wait for 5-10 months ...so i thought its positve..

BETWEEN
TREASURY BOARD

Applicant
and
PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FOREIGN SERVICE OFFICERS

Respondent
Indexed as
Treasury Board v. Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers

In the matter of a request for the Board to exercise any of its powers under section 43 of the Public Service Labour Relations Act
REASONS FOR DECISION
Before: David P. Olsen, Acting Chairperson

For the Applicant: Lynn Grenier-Beaulne, Treasury Board Secretariat

For the Respondent: Christina Dowler, Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers

Decided on the basis of written submissions
filed July 2 and 15, 2013.
Matter before the Board
1 On June 3, 2013, the Treasury Board ("the applicant") applied for an order declaring that position 510000 in the Foreign Service Group bargaining unit is a managerial or confidential position pursuant to section 71 of the Public Service Labour Relations Act.

2 As an objection had not been filed by the Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (“the respondent”), the Public Service Labour Relations Board ("the Board") made an order on June 27, 2013, in PSLRB File No. 572-02-2803 declaring that position 510000 identified in the annex to that order is a managerial or confidential position.

3 On July 2, 2013, the applicant notified the Board that the applicant had provided the Board with erroneous information in support of its original application that led to the June 27, 2013 order in PSLRB File No. 572-02-2803. The applicant requested that the annex of that order be amended to reflect that position 510000 is located in the Department of Citizenship and Immigration.

4 On July 15, 2013, the respondent indicated it had no objection to the applicant’s request. Under these circumstances, the Board amends the annex to its order of June 27, 2013 in PSLRB File No. 572-02-2803, to delete the Treasury Board Secretariat as the department in which position 510000 is located and substitute it with the Department of Citizenship and Immigration.

5 For all of the above reasons, the Board makes the following order:

Order
6 The annex to the June 27, 2013, order in PSLRB File No. 572-02-2803 is amended to delete the Treasury Board Secretariat as the department in which position 510000 is located and substitute it with the Department of Citizenship and Immigration.

July 19, 2013.

David Paul Olsen
Acting Chairperson

My friend applied for his parent's super visa and it got issued in 10 days. Can you believe it?
I think they are giving priority to visitors and students, these assholes are clearly working.

But they just want to mess with sponsorship applicants and skilled work applicants probably.

I had emailed n asked abt hearing date btn pafso n tb. I got this reply.

Good day, Mr. Luitel.

Your enquiry about the PAFSO file has been forwarded to me for a response.

I wish to confirm that the Public Service Labour Relations Board (PSLRB) has received the file to which you refer. A hearing date has not yet been established, but you may wish to check the hearing schedule available on our website from time to time (file number: 561-02-638) at the following link: http://www.pslrb-crtfp.gc.ca/hearingschedules/intro_e.asp.

We cannot anticipate the length of time the hearing and the resulting decision would take.

Thank you again for contacting the PSLRB.

Regards,

It is positive, I am not trying to say it isn't positive, it gives the Manila people some hope. All I am saying is that any lackey in the office can send letters for PPR's, and it might be a strategy to make people think more is happening in the VO's than there really is. If people were getting COPR's you'd be hearing it loud and clear. On the Facebook pages only a trickle of students seem to be getting visas.

Hey guys !!

Hope all things will get back to normal asap. I have been following this thread quietly for a very long time. Myrah , magesse , maverick , u guys are dng great job by keeping positive vibes in the forum. My case is unique compared to u guys i guess, coz am just 22 and my wife is toronto. I was planned to go for studies there in sep take-in, but it has become impossible now. :-[ i have wasted almost a year for this visa and a year more i have to waste, coz of this process i never applied for any job thinking tht visa might come in 5-6 months. My life is crashed almost. Let me stop dhuk whale khani here.

i have a question, the visa officers send ppr only when medicals is passed ? or they send it as a formal procedure when they open the file in newdelhi.
Coz my e-cas shows only Application Received on Mar 21,2013. What to do with this? when i checked with the Apollo Hospitals chennai they said, the report has already gone.

Help me with these guys.
thank u
all the best for every one.

It's basically standard procedure when a new file is received to ask for PPR very early. Everybody in this forum has experienced this.

E-CAS SHOULD be showing "In Process - Passport received" for all of us!!! But CIC never updates and nobody can really tell what is happening with our files behind closed doors. The only way to tell is when you apply for GCMS notes...

The officers do not even acknowledge that the Passport has been received or not, yes the couriers have delivered but at least share some sort of acknowledgement. Of course NDVO is too good for us...

It's just straight to DM or they will call you to pick up your passport as we are seeing another trend developing with 2012 applicants.

By the way, I would just like to share that the 2012 applicants in these strike times are actually hitting the 10 months mark.

So goodluck to us all....
