Hi,

I got married in january 2014 and came back to canada in april 14. I plan to apply for my wife in may but I don't have job right now. Should I apply or wait and apply after i get a full time job?

I would suggest you find a full time job, this will show that you have an income to support both yourself and your wife. Not having a job weakens you case.

Hi Simran-

there is no requirement that Sponsor should have a job to sponsor his/her spouse. they dont require you to show any financials but we still kept it when we applied. once you find a job just mail the offer letter to them. You should apply soon as it takes 8months to get visa on average. all the best :) :)

A HUGE WEEKEND FOR ME GUYS, HERE'S THE STORY:

- My wife's status went to "in-process" on Saturday May 17 (We started processing your application on May 14, 2014.)

- On Monday May 19 she got a call from the Canadian Embassy in Chandigarh confirming her date of birth, full name, and address. As well, they asked her if she can travel to Canada before June 8 (as her medicals expire that day), she said "YES!!!!!!!"

- She got a call today May 20 at 12 noon asking her to pick up her passport from the Canadian Embassy in Chandigarh before 2pm and she went in 10 minutes (as she lives in Chandigarh) and picked it up ! ! ! ! ! ! !

- They returned all our photographs along with the passport with the Canadian visa in it, online status still says "in process"

SUPER SUPER EXCITED AS THIS TORTURE HAS FINALLY ENDED ! ! ! ! ! ! !

I WISH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR CASE :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

was it canadian or indian interviewer? overall, do you feel the interview went well?

I know you haven't received any PPR since you have filed your application but during your interview did you inquire about your PPR....just curious to know...

Thanks

hi bossbig, did you get passport request after your remedical?

Hi Dolma,

I want to know that did you get PPR from NDVO since you have filed your application? If not then did you inquire during your interview if you need to submit your passport after remedical?

Thanks!!

Congratulations. Wishing you all the best. Happy married life. Happy journey.
Now with this story I infer that the priority is given based on the medical expiry. They wish to avoid putting the applicants on remedical, extension of the medical by one or two months etc and resort to calling the person discussing obtaining their consent and handing over the Passport with visa personally asking them to pick up. NDVO really does a good job. Occationally we burst out due to our stress level.
all the best.

It's strange people that being a December 2013 applicant I still haven't received my passport request where as the timeline which I see over here suggest that everyone has received passport request within 1 or 2 months of their application

Having permanent job is not a requirement for submission of spousal application.Make sure you attach your bank statements showing funds alongwith the application.

Once you get a job in future, send CIC the job offer letter.I did the same.

Go ahead and submit your application ASAP.Don't wait.

Around Jan14 only the NDVO started not asking for passports at the beginning May be due the process time incresed to 13 months and many cases of remedicals; people are not able to make some short trips etc. This is a normal procedure. Earlier they were asking on opeing the file at the beginning itself. Pl do not worry. Wish you a speedy visa.

The medical explanation depends how soon/late your medical was done. My medical was done 1 month prior to when I submitted the application, if your medical was done 3-5 months before you submitted your application then they will most likely ask for re-medicals. For Example: I applied on July 11, 2013, if my medical had been done in March 2013 instead of June 2013 then NDVO would have let it expire because they were still processing May 2013 applications in March 2013, no way would they have given a July applicant a visa, but since they were processing July applications and my medical was about to expire they decided to issue the visa. I hope my explanation makes some sense :P

hey Gaggi, biggest congratulations, I am very happy for you, I guess everyone in the forum is, we all know they were being unfair by considering you an august applicant and you really felt bad seeing aug applicants getting dms and you were still waiting, but see prayers are answered eventually, could be little late,
anyways, good luck with your future, hv fun, and just forget about the waiting time, enjoy this beautiful life, and specially after this long separation we know how important n valued our life partner is...congrats once again.
