I have a question, when we send passport to ndvo for visa. Do we have to send old cancelled passport too ??
We got last name changed for my wife after marriage. So they issued her new passport and cancelled the old one. But we only submitted new passport.

Send the old passport as well with a message.

Logic: One of the primary requirement for a Canadian PR is Security. In other words no or minimum convictions, this is the reason they ask you for a PCC if you stayed in a geography for more than 6 months. Old passport is a proof on your travels and identity. If you had applied to New Delhi Office, you would have filled and sent an additional form detailing your international travels. In that form there is a field which inquires about the 'Number of passport you held: '

This means that you need to send old passports. But no worries you can send it at a later stage.

you are a December applicant and it is way tooooooo early to apply for notes unless if you don't get your passport request by March....if you order one all it shows is 'nothing started'....but if you want to help Canadian economy to improve, you can spend your $5....

try page 10 under medical.....after these items (family name , given name, type, status, validity date; status updated by; status updated date; assigned by; assigned date etc) on the next page (page 11) there is valid until....that is the expiry date

It says medical not started and valid until/expire date is empty:

Use your PPR letter and send them the old passport asap with a cover letter stating the mistake. It would help greatly. They want to check if there is any travel on the old passport.

Do it asap and don't wait for your NDVO. The letter clearly asks for all passports old and new and this number should match what you would have put on the additional Delhi specific travel form.

We dint get the PPR. We found out through gcms notes, and than we ordered another notes after that to check if they received her passport or not. In those, They mentioned that they received her passport with cover letter.

You don't need to worry about it. NDVO will call your husband on the phone number he provided and confirm Indian address before they send the passport back to him

after landing if ndvo can email me saying im waiting final review by a VO than I can imagine such a mistake.....really playing with everyone lives.......its sad some get thru so fast some stuggle to get thru and some just go on waiting with a question mark....and we dnt have answers why this happens !! uff too much NDVO hope all u guys waiting get the visa's man enough is enough :

Thats so true. Theres nothing we can do for that than waiting. Then we all will get the visas soon. Its a luck that ppl get it early or late. Cant wait to get over it. You are lucky. thanks alot for the wishess.. :-*

It says medical not started and valid until/expire date is empty:

if they have received your medical results, it is one year from the date that they received; sometimes they give two or three weeks extra to one year medical results expiration date; not sure why you see blank information in valid until field

so you are saying it is definitely a ppr?? my lawyers assistant said shes also confused cuz it always says to send in passport and this time that parts is missing, and you know how it is with these forms ,you have to read everything twice so you don't make a mistake and them having to take even longer on ur file !

Well ye its pretty confused but its exactly same on the ppr so i assume that they didnt check the ppr properly before sending to the applicants. Thats not proper one. You have to make sure its correct. good thing you are here and get some help so you will know the answers too. Good luck!

Thanks waiting 2 exhale. I am saving my OMGs for when I get IP, then DM and then the ultra-shiny visa in my hand . I try to keep tabs on NDVO's good news to keep up the positivism that work is being done by NDVO and our applications are being processed. And also, it is nice to be organized with lists, to know where we stand and what we should be expecting in the near future

How long does it take for the Chandigarh office to stamp the visa after the passport is given? I was called to bring the passport over by hand and was asked to promise I would travel within a month as my medical expires.... Wondering how long it will take to get the shiny visa...

lol thanks yea i figured it was too soon to bother ordering notes.. I just thought that maybe Null meant our application had been cancelled or something like that.. haha ok thank god. I love you guys, everytime i freak out someone here calms me down haha

My status is also same as you but some date diff IP on 7nov and medical expire on 20april

I believe there is a gap of one month from the date they processed your request for notes and the date you received your notes..so they could have started background checking by the time you got your notes report....how long? million dollar question...I believe they have outsourced the investigation business to private companies.....it depends on how long you lived/stayed in other countries and how many countries you have lived for more than 6 months....if everything is done before your medicals expiring date and if it is too close then they might extend medicals expiration date or ask you to pack and go before the expiry date....
