As long as you can ensure them that once ur spouse gets a PR u will move back to Canada and will spend ur life in canada it will not matter at all, if not yes it will become a huge problem.

Ok...so how do i prove that ? My lawyer already mentioned that in the application that i am still considered a resident of canada and i am merely in India to stay with my husband....what else do i need to do ?

Also if you are a PR u have to live in canada until the entire process finishes however you can make short trips to India but if you are a citizen than you are allowed to stay outside canada when the application is in process although u still have to prove that u will move back to canada once ur spouse gets a PR.

Really thats all you can do .. or you can prove them by showing that you and your husband will have better job prospects and life in Canada. Also send them your canadian bank statement. If they still doubt they will call for an interview and that will give you an oppurtunity to explain them in detail about your situation. Just remember all this only applies if you are a citizen , if you are the PR then u have to live in canada while the application is in process

so letter is all what you can write them. There is no other way unless you have a job offer waiting for you in canada you can show them that but i doubt you have that.

Hey guys,
Small updates from my side. I checked ecas this morning and they updated my home address to Canada with city and province only. However, the status still says application received only.
Below is my timeline:
Applied: January 23, 2013
Sponsorship approval/file transferred to ND: February 18, 2013
PPR: March 16, 2013, Received by ND:March 21, 2013
Address change: June 9, 2013.

Is it a good sign guys? Any thought?

hey that looks like a good sign... Congrats... I think today or by tomorrow, your status will change to Decision made... and you may receive your Passport in this week too.. some times, even if processing is done, they might not update eCas status accordingly... I guess yours is one of those cases... my timeline is very similar to yours... I hope even mine will be completed soon....

Do not worry angel2117... I think what you did is right... you had mentioned about your situation in letter... that should be good enough... if VO has any doubts he will definitely call you for an interview and you guys can give your explanation to VO at that time... in case, if you guys are not called for any interview then I think everything should be fine...

Thanks Gupta 417.

When did status change to Medical received ? Before passport request or right after passport request.
I am worried . My medical was done on March 7th and we sent medicals along with application package. Ecas is not showing medical received.

Hi dear...mine is showing application received and medicals received...I don't understand why medicals received is not updated in your ecas status. My status is same since sponsorship approval.Don't worry if you have already enclosed your medical with the application.
