Hi ragi,
I am in the same boat as you! Got DM almost over 3 weeks ago but no sign of PP or any communication from NDVO. :'(
Has your address on E-cas changed to the Canadian address? Mine hasn't! :( Dunno what the NDVO folks are upto ???

I hope there aren't issues with passport delivery now. Another user (LunarNymph) has also been waiting for about three weeks after DM. My wife got DM a few days ago (and address change a week ago), so I guess it's still too early to tell in our case. Things are really slow right now with NDVO, both with processing files and sending passports. I'm wondering if the strike action has anything to do with it.
Hi bachansoo,
Looks like a lot more people are joining our boat called 'Have DM but nothing further'! ???
What strike are you referring to here? NDVO strike or postal strike?

Nothing much..Waiting and waiting and thats all we can really do! I am getting annoyed because my husband travels for his business and he cannot travel anymore since his passport is in New delhi

I tired to contact with conservative party of Canada in my area. They called me right away and asked me to fill up some info about myself and my husband. They said they can help me to find out whats going on with my husband;s status. I changed my mind later on because i dont want to make such a big issue now since its only 3 months after PP submission and not even 8 months after applied filed. Processing time is still 10 months so I will wait. I dont want to push them when they are working on it.

I will only consider it if its past due date which is after 10 months. ::)

Reeyan,
PPR date is identical with you. PPR three months. Had applied for GCMS. expecting a reply by 18th of this month. Hope fully I get some news. I'm getting frustrated waiting.

I think talking to an MP can be done after 6-8 months of time. Before that there are no option left but to WAIT WAIT WAIT...

It's mentioned here:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t140961.0.html

And then here:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t149768.0.html

Nobody is sure whether it applies to visa immigration offices or how the strike is or will be carried out.

Hi All,

Just wanted to share my information.

Applied: 17th September 2012
Started processing at ND: 22nd October 2012
PPR (by Phone): 14th Feb 2013
In Process: 14th Feb 2013
PP sent: 6th March 2013
Visa Issued: 17th May 2013
Decision made: 29th May 2013
Address updated: 30th May 2013
PP mailed by CIC: 30th May 2013
PP received: 3rd June 2013

I studied in Canada for a year and worked there for a year (2 years in Canada)

I submitted medicals, police clearance, letters of support from family and friends, personal letters, emails and around 50 photographs with my application

Although I grew increasingly frustrated by the lack of updates from CIC, I did not order GCMS notes nor did I do a MP inquiry. My lawyer suggested that it is not advisable to do so unless the application has exceeded the given timelines.

I understand everybody's frustration but when CIC states that it takes 10 months to process an application, I think we should be understanding and allow them that time. Like my lawyer said "forget about the application till the 10 months are completed". She also said that processing times depend on the experience of your visa officer (someone new would be more careful and hence take longer)

To all of you who have been waiting for much longer than the given timelines I sympathize with you and hope your wait ends soon.

Our frustration only makes us more impatient.

You indicated your visa was issued in May 17th 2013 and decision may 29th 2013.
How do you know all these things?????

Did you get an email from them or did u just keep checking ecas after submitting your passport to new delhi??

Please let me know.. I am checking my email everyday and ecas everyday.. I go to my post office once a week so, i am going crazy here going back and forth.

It also seems like Applicants from July,Aug and September are getting there visa stamped now. Hopefully oct is next..Atleast in June.. :-\

You will receive passport through speed post. Keep checking your online status. They will update your status as - Decision Made and after few day from that youi should receive the passport with visa stamped on it.

Congrats & best wishes!

Does ordering GCMS notes early (say ~3 months after PPR) give any negative influence on the application?
In my case, I don't see any update (just application received) after Mar 2013.
I'm concerned if they have received my medicals!
I have made a case specific enquiry email to Delhi before 40 days, but haven't received anything.
May be GCMS notes should give me some info on the medicals.
Should I wait for one more month or order GCMS notes right away?
Any suggestion appreciated!

@ Reeyan - I am no expert but based on the comments in this forum I have noticed that some cases have gone from Application Received to Decision Made. If it was me, I would just wait it out and see what happens but that's just my opinion.

I got my passport and saw that the date the visa was issued on was 17th May, 2013. I used to check Ecas everyday and it only got updated to Decision Made on 29th May, 2013. I did not get any e-mail from CIC. It seems like you are stressing a lot. Try to keep yourself occupied with other things and do not waste your time going to the post office. Once the processing time has elapsed then I would suggest taking further action such as GCMS or MP inquiry but until then try to remain calm.

@ Namachii - I have no idea whether ordering GCMS notes would have a negative influence. I was tempted to do it myself but I wanted to allow the 10 months to pass by before I took any action. I'm not sure how it works here but if you sent your medicals by courier you would have received a confirmation from the courier agency that it was delivered. This should ease some doubts. If you have the patience, I suggest that you wait it out. Maybe someone who has ordered for GCMS notes could advise you on the whether you should order the notes.

Everybody's application is different so use their timelines to get an estimate but do not assume your application will move at the same pace. Based on what I read on this forum I thought it would take me 3 weeks to receive my PP after DM but it took just 4 days.
