That is what I was thinking.......what is half or quarter or full background check?????? It is true we have to wait only......but it is almost 11 month now since we had applied

Ridiculous it is.

If you don't mind me asking. When was your interview. My husband also passed his interview in January and the mp's office said the same thing. That they are doing background checks. His medicals have since expired. We're so stressed out.

I am Canadian Citizen and sponsoring my wife....

The same situation is mine. Is there any concession of time when it comes to PR for the wife and kid? His sponsor DM was very fast even PPR for me was also quite before time. PPR was at 2nd march. Do you think it will be faster for me and our kid. FYI my husband serves the Canadian Govt.

I'm getting anxious day by day.

Please reply if you can throw some light.

The same thing happened to Oct12 too, and it came by phone a couple of days later. Most likely it'll come by phone for you too within the next few days.

+1, nice to see those who have been waiting a while get their DMs. Hopefully this continues this week, especially for those waiting since early 2012.
And it's also nice to see all the purple at the bottom of the spreadsheet! Next weekend will bring some more PPRs. for those still waiting.

Congratulations to all..I've got a phone call from CHC saying if I can travel before my medical expires in first week of April..so I said yes and they will now call in couple of days to ask if we can collect or they'll be posting it out..so. This week a good news...yippieeee ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks a lot and thanks Muski...finally at 4pm I got a call from CHC again saying they have issued my visa so do I want to collect or they gotta post..so I've opted to collect..so tomorrow 3pm I'm collecting my visa...DAMN EXCITED!

I just looked at your old post, I see you have quite a travel history, US, UK, Canada, Schengen visas etc. So do I.

From what I've read, they get an external agency to do the background check, so that may be the hold up. The good news is, background check is the last stage. Which means we are almost done, so don't worry, we'll get our DMs anytime now.

ASSSEMENT
Medical : Passed
Eligibility : Passed
RCMP Screening: Passed "No Reportable Trace"
Criminality: In Progress
Security: Passed
RPRF: Passed

So that mean only Background check is pending but it is talking a long time ( I assume it is because of long travel History in past)

Yes. Since 2-3 days after the interview on January it's been in process.
