Another update everyone!

We got our re-medical request on Feb. 28, exactly 10 days after being approved at our interview in ND. My husband got his medical this morning and the doctor told him he would get the results on wednesday afternoon. He has all the other documents they asked for ready to go in a package so all he has to do is slip the medical report into the envelope and post it to ND!! So excited! I am guessing it will take another 10 or 15 days to process the new medical expiry date on the visa and send it back to us..which will take another ten days as usual ahahhaa

But so soon compared to the 12 months it has been filed with CIC for!

My question: How come people that filed after are getting PPR before people who filed before?
Is there something to be worried about?!

i know there are no definite answers, but good to know wht people think.

I don't think there is a rhyme or reason to the variation of progression in different cases. Yes, it may be possible that those who have a PPR have a simpler case after initial review. However, in many instances those who get an early PPR are waiting many months without a DM, or those with a late PPR get a really quick DM. Don't place too much value into the timing of the PPR.

My appl. date is same as urs & file transfer date to NDVO on 2nd nov. still waiting for my PPR.... i dont have any specific reply to ur query.... yeah i can see oct & nov applicants getting PPR.... may be that they found out some complexity in my case compared to other sept, oct or nov applicants who already got their PPRs. Although i feel my application is simple..... god knows!!

My time line is near your guys. U both should expect PPR in this week or next week. My application was filed on September 13th/2012 and received PPR last week.

thankyou all for your replies.. i just wish there was a deadline to the cases, and atleast we would be waiting till that date..the open wait is getting difficult!

@ nabagataa.. atleast we can compare our timelines..maybe ours went to the same VO..coming days will tell

@ shinningdew - i hope so...my husband's passport is expiring end of april so i m worried abut what the ppr comes too late and then they keep it there for months and the pp expires.. and if he renews his pp now, he loses his US visitor visa..anyone have any suggestions??

13.15. Valid visas in expired passports
If an expired passport contains a valid visa counterfoil, the counterfoil can still be used since the expiration of the passport has no effect on the visa's validity. Holders of a valid visa may continue to use their visa until the date it expires even if the visa is in an expired passport. Visitors can fulfil the visa and passport requirements by presenting both the renewed and expired passports containing the valid visa counterfoil to a BSO when seeking entry into Canada. The Regulations state that visas should not be issued longer than the validity of the passport. However, due to pre- IRPA cases, it is possible to encounter visas in expired passports.

It is not possible to "transfer" a valid visa into a new passport. If the holder of a valid visa wishes to have a visa placed in their new passport or if the passport is deemed ‘not valid' for political or security concerns, visitors must apply for a replacement visa by submitting a new application and paying the replacement document fee in accordance with R311(2).

If the applicant wishes to obtain a visa valid for a longer period in the new document, this will constitute a new temporary resident visa application and any applicable fees resulting from this new application will be collected. The previous visa will subsequently be cancelled.

It only takes a week max to get ur PP renewed ( tatkal service) . I think u should renew ur pp first .

I would suggest catch hold of an agent , they will get it done with 2-3days . My sister got her PP renewed in 3 days .. So don't wait .

The visa they are talking about is your Canadian PR visa on your passport. Maybe the barcode on your visa is invalid or something. Don't worry. Just send the PP and COPR back to them asap and you should get your PP back soon as well.

It will depend on what they mean by invalid. So at this point you can only guess. Search for some specimen of PR visa stamp online and compare it with yours. I have not seen one myself specifically. Also maybe try posting this as a separate discussion thread so that other members from other countries can help.
