Reasons for the delay after your file goes In process;

# May be High volume of applications are In process and schedule to issue visa.

# May be awaiting final reviews.

# May be considering to issue before Christmas.

# May be Issued in the month of January.


So don't think about how much possibility to get interview?????????????????????????????and if you wish the answer then I may say

99.9% no chance of interview. I suggest get in touch with your MP for a clear update.

Any July 31st applicants ? Just curious to know the status of the visa ?

My wife got PPR on 2nd Nov, DHVO received it on 5th Nov. Still the ecas status:

We received your application for permanent residence on July 31, 2012.
Medical results have been received.

As per the spread sheet, it's taking 70 days to get the visa after PPR...any guess...?

after a roller coaster 6 months and more.... we finally got our passport back... yes the visa is shiny and definitely looks worth waiting for.

we are preparing for the flight and it would be nice to be together this holiday season.

one question guys... what are the formalities around carrying the wedding jewellery. can we just carry everything in the handbag or do we need to bring in the receipts from the stores in india... how do we declare that in india... any help would be most welcome.

thank you guys... we will still be active and would update regularly on this forum.

Hi SBC2012,
You will not have trouble entering Canada with any amount of jewellery the first time as a landed immigrant. If you bring it afterwards without including it in your B4, you will have to pay taxes (if you declare it OR Canadian customs inspects and comes across your jewellery.)

It is advisable you retain and carry your receipts with you and never lose them as long as you own the jewellery! You can carry everything in your handbag.

If you dont intend to bring the jewellery the first time as a landed immigrant, PLEASE declare it in your B4, you may have to provide pictures, receipts and perhaps valuation certificates with your B4 for jewellery.
I had to pay taxes at 20% on the value of jewellery on a later visit since I had not declared it in my B4 when I first landed in Canada.

Not sure how it works at the India end though. I didn't migrate here from India

My spouse is also from same place, we contacted our MP and also got their reply saying as our files are "awaiting initial reviews" so we have to wait,

and your husband also resides in surrey BC and that means our cases comes under same constituency so tell your husband to go and meet MP's office

and ask them about your case and the address is mentioned below;

I have Permanent Resident (PR) since Aug,2011. I got PR under skilled workers category. Therefore,I did show $13,000 CAD at the Toronto Airport. My wife has got approved in her spousal sponsorship. She will land to Canada in Jan,2013. I am going to India for a visit and she will come with me.

I am not sure does she need to show any funds at the airport? or any of my payslips or letter from the current employer?

I am June 22 applicant.ITs been over 95 days since PPR and no news from New Delhi.Status shows as Application Received.So you need to wait for more time to hear any news...Good luck
