There must be a way out for this..

It's really a catch-22 situation. I was the one who was fined for doing this by Consulate General of India, Vancouver when I tried to renew my Indian passport. They noticed that I had sent my passport via mail to US twice (once for Worker Visa and a second time for PR Visa stamping). There is really no other way to do it. Visa can't be stamped from within Canada. This was advised by CIC and this IS standard procedure. But CGI-Vancouver said it's not their problem. The fine is CDN$110 for every time it's sent across the border via post.

You might be able to send it to the Canadian high commission in US. You should call the CIC office to find that out.

So if I dont send it by mail, someone comes from US and gives my passport to my parents.
They send it to CIC Delhi, then is it illegal again??
Is there any US law which restricts this?? Does anyone checks the passport in US if its with me or not?? If found without passport in US, will it affect me in any case??? ???

Congrats April Applicant ... what does the date say on the PPR letter? what time did u receive it?

It says July 11,2012 and my wife received it. I think roughly 10.5 hrs ago.

Thanks ... Does ur ecas show Indian address when u log in with ur wife's file number?

April Applicant said:
Yes it does.

I am not sure if its just me, but when I log on with my wife's file number, it is showing Canadian address.
For most of the people who are waiting for PPR, it's showing Indian address. I am confused.

My update is for the stage1 for which you can always reach CIC canada office to get updated status

Though I haven't received my approval via email, agent confirmed me on the phone that I was approved yesterday. Hopefully, I see the update on ecas.

Happy to get onto Stage2 and will wait for PPR.
