I had the same problem with the name on the passport. Entire name falls under given name. But whenever I applied for visas, US Student, Schengen, US tourist, Canada, the respective country used the correct format despite the idiotic passport.

When I made my new passport I tried to change it to the proper way but the Indian passport office suddenly became very imaandaar and demanded a hundred other documents, since I needed my pp done quick, I told them to just stick with the old pp and get on with it.

Shouldn't be a problem!

Oh thats good! My Aus student visa and other visit visas have my entire name as my given names AND surname!! which just makes it ridiculous! lol
even on e-CAS i use my entire name when signing in...
This issue wont cause a delay in the processing na..?

Wow! By the looks of it no one got a status update on e-CAS these last few days... :| NDVO ::) :o

I'm from Bombay but I was in Sydney studying for the last 5+ years before I got married... Not that I think that should matter... Its just scary because people who applied a month-month and a half after us have received their passports already...
I suspect a lot has to do wiz who your VO is as well...

Did you go through a lawyer... I am seriously beginning to think that people who do go through lawyers take longer to have their application approved...
No I didnt go through a lawyer. yeah i agree the visa officer is probably lazy this week or may be havent started the background checks ... i know some people got update in ecas that medicals have received but i dont see that in my case .. just in processing :).

Our time line is crazyyy similar :)
The one thing I like about this forum is I no longer feel so alone in this whole process... Though I do get heart attacks once in a while when people get their PR in 4/5 months while I wait hatching eggs! Haha

Hey! Congrats!
I was just wondering if you could guide me please:

Did your status online go to DM from "in process" before you got your passport and if so how long did it take?

Had you used a lawyer to file your application? Did you contact your MP or ask for GCMS notes?

Could you tell me which post your passport came by?

Thanks so much for your help :)

Hi zenn my passport came through registered post...my status changed to in process on 14th Feb n DM on 25 th feb and got my passport to Chennai yesterday which was 28th Feb.

Anyone from Gujarat get their PCC done?

If so, how long did it take and is there anything in particular they require to see from the person who is the Sponsor?

Hi, my wife is from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. To get her PCC done from Gujarat, I simply wrote her a letter saying that I am sponsoring her to come to Canada. She took that letter to a local police station and got her PCC within a few days. Its a simple process. In the letter, mention your marriage date and also your and your wife's passport number. Hope this helps.

Goodluck :)

Hi addicted123 , e medicals in nothing to do with the doctors . It's just that they have changed the system . Earlier they used to send the medical reports thru post or courier , I'm not sure . But now it's online .. They will send ur reports to NDVO thru email . That's it . Doctors r the same only the system is different .

The doctor I went to told me that they have just introduced this new system . Most of my medical forms were filled by them online . The doctor took the NDVO letter from me , scanned it bcoz she had to send that letter along with my reports . This was mentioned in my letter .

Don't get confused , just go as u had gone for the first time .
