New Delhi - 2012 applicants

I would like to share the landing experience of my wife. She landed in Calgary port of entry. Everything went smooth and as planned. All they asked her was my (husband's) address in Canada (to send the PR card), and details of jewellery she was carrying and goods to follow. She didn't have to fill any forms. They filled everything when she provided the information they needed. She is here now and we are having a lot of fun.

I am hoping that everybody's applications are moving fast here
I have a question about name change. My wife's passport (and all other identifications and forms) has her original name. The only place with my last name is our Marriage Certificate. Now, is it okay for her to just use the new last name in Bank Accounts, Credit Cards, other official stuff here etc.?

I believe this is not as simple... u might have to go thru a lawyer for some sort of declaration before using the new surname.

That is so unproffesional that New delhi Vo will make a mistake like that...feel bad for Satveer..if i were u i would mail the letter via courier to Satveer so atleast he can proceed with the PPR.
Ecas is all messed up,you are late March applicant, there are applicant from Feb and early march still waiting for there deceision to be made.
i am sure this decision made is for your first step.

i hope your PPR goes to the right address.

I will be contacting Satveer sponsor which is actually an Agency in Brampton (Called them today but no response) to let them no of this.

As per my decision part. The ECAS site says the decision has been made for my wife and they have sent a letter with the details.

Does any one knows of any means to contact Delhi VO (other than the inquiry form on their website where response time is 28 days). I would like to speak with someone there if possible.

Thanks Amira, I am delighted as well.. We are going to be in Vancouver lower mainland. quick one for u, how long it took to get back the passport, from what I understand it takes about 3-5 business days right?

The passport took 5-6 calendar days for my husband and about the same for many others who got DMs before me - rv_maria, nani, etc. ... I expect you'll have it in hand by July 29 at the latest, probably sooner. Let us know how it goes...

friends i m so happy was talking to wife during my lunch break and she told me i received email from Ottawa and she was tense to read email so when she read email to me we knew its approved .......so happpyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
u know funny part i called call center today and the agent told me they received the file and she dont know anything other then that..so i asked how long will the process take she told me two weeks i was so annoyed i asked her y two week when ur website shows working on application received on 19th she said i dont know but check after two weeks....and then after i got this email @2.02pm from Ottawa Pilot

will CIC keep my mail address in CC ( copy) while sending the approval mail to my lawyer.. or any kind of communications...

i am just worried about my student visa refusal during 2008, i guess the CIC should be verifying those files and thats why its taking time for me.. ..
