Hi there,

I received the COPR this month, planning to land in March. I am from a visa exempt country.

Landing:
As per my research I understand that in order to land I need:
- valid passport (no visa as I am visa exempt)
- COPR
- proof of funds
- goods declaration (B4 form)

anything else?

PR Card
I need to file an application to receive a PR card (+pay the fee) and send it to CPC in Sydney, NS. The PR card will be sent to me via regular mail

Keeping the PR status
In order to keep the PR status I shall reside in Canada for the 730 days in the 4years period. It doesn't have to be consecutive, but a total of 730 within that period. Is there anything else I should keep in mind to keep the PR status? Are there any conditions I need to fulfill?

Thanks,
Mike

"Landing" is more or less correct. The others are not.
The PR card application is not required as it is performed automatically as part of the landing interview, based on the photo sheet of the COPR. It's required that within any 5 years period, you are physically in Canada for 730 days, not 4 years. The residency obligation requirements are not as simple as this however because the rule is applied slightly differently during the first 5 years and there are also exemption conditions. The CIC website is the best reference. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/5445ETOC.asp#appendixA

Thank you. Can you explain how the interview looks like?

Some of the process is documented at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2013/ob545-mod.asp
The rest seems to vary person to person and location to location. There are a number of "landing experience" threads on the forum, so it's probably a good idea to browse through them. You might find this helpful. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-border-interview.asp and http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-border.asp
