Hi Guys,

Hoping someone can help me out here: our immigration journey was completed last week and we became citizens ;D

We are travelling to the US on vacation in 2 weeks time, and we won't have Canadian passports by then (we applied this weekend, but it sounds like they will be delivered during our vacation). We are travelling by car and will be crossing the land border.

My question is, will we be OK to return to Canada with our British passports and Canadian Citizenship certificates? The passport officer told me to call CBSA, which I did throughout the weekend and several times this morning, but there's an automated message telling me to call back between 8am and 4pm and that's all I get?!?

I'm assuming I will be fine, but just wanted to double check. Wondered if anyone on here has experience with this.

Many thanks!

Before I got a Canadian passport, I crossed into Canada numerous times by car with my U.S. passport and Canadian citizenship card. So, if you can get into the U.S. without a problem, you should have no problem getting back into Canada.

Sure, based on your UK passport alone there won't be a problem. You would not need the certificate either.. but it is nice to have it, isn't it??
