New CEC applications now go to CIO-Sydney!

PMM pointed out this Operational Bulletin, just posted today -

Effective January 1, 2012, all Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applications must be submitted to the Centralized Intake Office (CIO) in Sydney, Nova Scotia...

I do not see this as a positive thing, I think it will increase the processing time like FSW

Have to wait and see what other new instructions will be coming - it implies that Buffalo is no longer the main processing center for CEC applications, but don't know yet who will be doing the processing. Perhaps the CPP-Ottawa was so successful that most applications will go there, which would be a good thing...

BTW - CIO-Sydney reduced the amount of time it took to receive an AOR for FSW applicants, from 4-6 months to 2 months...

And with GCMS, it looks like file transfers are much smoother.

So overall, I see it as a positive thing. Unless it means that CIO-Sydney gets more work but doesn't get more staff
