New born baby after getting COPR and VISA

They can request of the medical staff to extend; it's not guaranteed, but it's not uncommon if the principals are young enough and of good health.

Got it. we are in mid 30s. so condiered young lolz even though it feels we are getting older LOLZ. so I did medicals when I applied for work permit back in 2020 then during PR application submission we again did upfront medicals in 2023. so I am hoping they extend our medicals.

when I can expect to get new COPR as Child medicals submitted by physician. like usually can I expect decision quickly now since it just medical for child thats done. I assume they wont do our eligibility check and background again since COPR is expired in JAN 2025.

I do not know. Usually doesn't take long for the medical officers to clear, but I'd only be guessing about the other steps. Yes, may not 'take long', but still requires someone to go through the paperwork.

Hopefully now that they're seized of the issue will be on the sooner end. Even that, though, is probably 4-8 weeks - and that's my wild guess for what would be relatively quick.

New Update - Medical passed by IRCC on May 16th. Biometric for New Born - Exempted. in Tracker I can see Background check in progress not sure what they do for New Born. after calling IRCC Agent mentioned everything is completed for baby just now officer needs to finalize the application. not sure then why tracker shows its in progress. Also once they finalize the application for baby they will work on finalizing my application this is what agent told me - so may be that I am assuming they will ask for our medicals to be completed which will further add a month of two till we get COPRs.

that being said - will they do my Background check and eligibility again before issuing new COPRs or just Medicals and might ask PCC as I have seen in some cases they did ask for PCC. it seems all will take another 2-3 months before I get COPRs.
