New born babies born outside Canada

I'm a Canadian Citizen and currently live in Canada. I recently married to a girl in India and she currently lives in India.
Her spousal sponsorship application is in process. She is pregnant now and she wants to have the baby delivered in India.

Question I have is: how the immigration can be done for the baby and will the CIC allow the baby to Canada or does the baby have the wait until he/she gets 18 years of age?

I'm trying to understand how the process works for new born babies born outside Canada

Please advise

Thanks!

You have to write to your visa office informing them about pregnancy of ur wife. They then will hold on to ur wife application and will tell u to submit baby documents once born and both of them will get processed at the same time

does that mean, can the baby born outside of Canada accepts before 18 years of age? and what baby docs do I need to submit? are there any formal instructions?

Assuming that the child is yours (yes, I know....), it will be a Canadian citizen, if you are not a citizen by descent yourself. Therefor all you need to do is apply for it's citizenship certificate and then passport.

1. IRCC is not interested in the pregnancy. If the spouse has not had her medical, it will probably delay the medical. As the father is a citizen, once the child is born, then he can apply for proof of citizenship.

So if father or mother is Canadian citizen, then the new born child becomes citizen of Canada even if born outside of Canada?

Depends on how the parent got citizenship.
