I have U.S. green card. I had also obtained Canadian PR around Oct-2005. I landed in Canada to get my PR and promptly returned to U.S and never lived in Canada since then. Now, I want to visit Canada for a week. Can I use my PR card to enter? I will be driving. Would they have cancelled my PR status?

What are my options? Can I apply for travel visa? If so, what is the impact of loosing the PR status on that application?

Thanks in advance

Just visit with your Canadian PR. No worries.

Technically speaking, you have lost your PR status and are no longer a Permanent Resident of Canada. You can try to enter with your PR card and see what happens; if you are lucky you might slip through.

Even if they consider your PR status lost you do not need a visa/TRV as you are a U.S. Permanent Resident and thus visa-exempt.

You can visit Canada on your GC so not a problem, just show your GC on the boarder and enjoy your trip!
