Hello everyone,

My name is azeem. I am 27 year old. I have done my masters in wireless computing from UK in 2008. Recession was on the peak in 2008 and i tried to got any job for more than 1 year in UK but i didnt got any job in UK. I left UK and come to australia on student visa. I have adequate 2 year work experience and i am thinking to apply for canadian immigration but i have few queries before to lodge my application from australia. I think this is the best forum where i can get answer of my questions.

1. what is the job prospect of IT professional (Speacilize in wireless networking) in canada?
2. Which provinces of canada have a good prospect for IT professional?
3. Can i eligible for canadian immigration on the bases of my IT skills and experience?

I would thank to you in advance for your time to read my question and comment on this. At this time, i really need your valuable and an expert opinion.

Thanks and Regards,
Azeem Agha.

There are jobs available in Canada, you might not get a job in your field straightaway unless if you have Canadian experience/education. You have to get your education and experience recognised once you in Canada.
2. Which provinces of canada have a good prospect for IT professional?
All provinces., you wouldn't know untill you land in Canada.
3. Can i eligible for canadian immigration on the bases of my IT skills and experience?
go to cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who-instructions.asp and look out for eligible NOC list, your particular one is not in there but look out for others, you might match the responsibilities of any other NOC as Job Responsibilities are more important than title.

I would thank to you in advance for your time to read my question and comment on this. At this time, i really need your valuable and an expert opinion.

Hi

Australia is really good for IT people there are lots of good jobs but problem is that permanent residence requirements are different for onshore applicants those who are on student visa. You need to have atleast 2 yrs degree to apply for PR and mostly masters degrees are 1 yr or at most 1yr and half so students who come here just for masters cant even apply for PR even if IT or any other field is still in demand. The option for them is to get a job offer which is very hard because employers dont even call you for the interview if they know that you are not permanent resident. So in short rules are bit different for those who are already in Australia on student visa but YES Australia is a very good country to live in.

Cheers
Saki
