Hi All,
Hope everyone is staying at home and safe.
I have few questions on my status. Our current stats is My husband is on Closed WP and i am on Open work permit as his dependent. right now our WPs are submitted for extensions can be extended till another year and are delayed due to Covid. we are here on Receipt notice.
1. Now My husband's organization is terminating him so whether we can stay in canada after termination?
2.what happens to my Open Work permit? am i allowed to work?
3.i am also laid off due to covid and i am getting EI? will i get EI in such sitation(if my husband is terminated?)
4.whether my husband will get his EI as he is terminated? or if he resigns whether he gets it?

1) You can remain in Canada until the expiry dates of your work permits.
2) Yes, you can work.
3) Yes, you can continue to get EI.
4) He will not qualify for EI if he resigns.
