Need to visit Canada, valid WP

Hello friends,

I will be leaving Canada soon to work in US on H1B. I have a valid Canadian work permit until 2020.
Can I still re-enter Canada at later point using that ? or I need to apply for visitor visa ?
Appreciate help on this.

If your visa is a multiple entry visa, and it’s still valid AND your work permit is valid .. then you should have no issues.

Was it a closed work permit? If it was, then quitting will likely invalidate it. You are still allowed to stay till the validity period of the CWP, you just can't work without a new work permit.

But if you leave Canada, getting back in even with a valid visa will be difficult as the CBSA officer may not let you enter since the basis for getting the visa has changed. The chances are quite high that you will be denied entry.
