Dear Members,

I will keep it short and direct. I worked the full year of 2018 in US, landed in Canada in May 2018 and stayed for just 5 days just to activate my PR card and get a SIN and then I returned back to US. This was my only trip to Canada in 2018 and have never visited Canada before this.

I filed my taxes in US for 2018. I had no income in Canada in 2018. Do I have to file taxes in Canada for 2018? Or maybe let CRA know that I already filed my taxes with IRS for US income? If yes, what would be a good tax filing service apart from H&R block? Please share your opinion/experience.

Appreciate your help. Thank you.

Unless you have more connections to Canada e.g. property, spouse/children, etc. no you don't need to file Canadian taxes.
