Value your opinion but beg to differ based on general views. If you have a sensible policy view or suggestion, that would actually help. Currently with 20k quota, the odds are next to none. We would rather wait in queue than waiting 10+ years of trying and no selection. Again, I respect your viewpoint.

Would you rather PGP sponsorships without caps to be in line as in spousal sponsorships where there are no caps, no lottery, no financial requirement and processing time generally shorter than PGP's?

The only way that would happen is if it was self funding vs. being heavily subsidized by taxpayers. So that would be similar to Australia which I think has fees of $45K per person or something like that.

Not at all but also can’t draw direct comparison. I can’t comment on spousal sponsorship as I have no interest or know much about that stream.

Then you have a better idea?

No and I wish but that’s the whole rationale for initiating this forum hoping someone would to improvise on my proposal.

There used to be Canadian program in Buiness immigration where high portfolio applicants can buy their permenant residency to Canada.

That’s so convenient for the wealthy to just buy their way out

Sorry I'm not following what you are implying by "The government can scrap the program any time". The petition is to request consideration for eliminating the lottery system and caps and allow for fair eligibility criteria on case by case basis as with other pathways. What's your view on the current PGP program? There have been previous petitions submitted and endorsed, however, there werent any recent attention brought to this issue and need to resurface.

You cannot draw direct comparison? Then why do you mentioned other pathways?

That’s was in reference to sponsoring a relative category. We are digressing from the main point and intent of this post.

Your main point was scrapping the lottery. Would you rather PGP in line with other pathways such as spousal sponsorship? Like I said before, there's no lottery in spousal sponsorship.

No if everything you said on your comment is true about no financial responsibility, etc

By posting your petition, you are opening up a wide range of opinions. Your solution is scrap the lottery and get rid of caps. Maybe there can be changes to the lottery format. You say “fair eligibility” but what does that mean?

There are posts on here weekly about people who are under the impression that PR is guaranteed at some point for their parents because the Canadian government gives that impression. They land and then want to sponsor therir parents or siblings and are surprised that it is not possible right away.

Honestly, I appreciate all these opinions and much needed. To your point earlier, redacting the cap aspect but lottery system has scope for change.

I can’t speak for individuals on this forum or else where who might have this impression but that’s not where I’m personally coming from or advocating for and can’t be judgemental about. This is purely about an existing program that requires amendment for the good.

Yes there are financial responsibility in undertaking if you becomes sponsor in spousal sponsorships. Just not as long as in PGP.

What is your solution and what does ”fair eligibility” mean? That is the issue and IRCC is not going to change it with a general statement. Not being fair is not a reason for IRCC to re-vamp the lottery system. There has to be concrete and realistic guidelines that don’t cost any more money in time and resources.
