Hi guys, I am in the urgent decision making process now.
I applied to several universities before May, they were in Manitoba and Ontario. I have been admitted to the diploma program in one university in Manitoba, then until now I still havent heard anything from the universities I applied for both master degrees.
As most of you know, one of the Ontario's PNPs is to finish a master degree within 2 yrs then you will get the PR soon, Manitoba's PNP is to complete a post graduate study then commit to work within Manitoba at least 6 months, you will get your PR.
I would always much prefer the OPNP because it it simply get a degree then you will be fine. In MPNP's case, it adds another 6 months, I am worried that things can be risky when it comes to job hunting and the job stableness.
Some one here told me that it is late for enrollment in the coming fall 2016, the universities probably would defer me to winter 2015's enrollment, because most of the classes are now full.
So guys, if I am still going for OPNP, would it be a better idea to go to Manitoba's university to study for just 3 months then drop out or transfer to Ontario universities? I mean there is still an amount of time that you are required to stay in Canada after the PR right, if the 3 months in Mannitoba do take into account, the it wouldn't be such a waste?
What do you all think? Thanks advance.

Hi,
With the way u talk it seems the Province will just hand over the PR status after ur school graduation. The best u can get is a provincial nomination with which u can submit a PR application to CIC. The final decision still lies on CIC. My advise is to go tru Manitoba. If the diploma course u ve bin admitted for isnt up to Two yrs, U will quickly put in for another one year diploma to make up two yrs education in Manitoba. Ur two yrs education will fetch post graduation work permit of nothing less than 2yrs from CIC. You will definitely get a job b4 expiration of that. From there u can apply for manitoba nomination, Then PR status from CIC. Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot Lakesyde! The diploma program is 12 mths if not less than a year. I am not sure how long my post graduation work permit I will get if I just complete one diploma (which is 1 yr or less), you are saying I would have to go for another diploma program to be able to get the 2 yrs work permit from the CIC?

the rules are all stated here on CIC site http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad-who.asp put simply 8 to 23 month course may be an 8 - 23 month PGWP, so equal to the course length. A 24 month or more course may be upto a 3 year PGWP.

That is my point sir, 12 mnths program can only earn a year work permit which might not be too safe for u. So u can immediately start another 12 months program after the first Diploma making up to two yrs education. With that u can get up to 3 yrs work permit.
