My wife wants to apply for “Alberta Skilled Investments Bursary” and she is the sponsor. We understand that she cannot be on any kind of social assistance while being a sponsor other than disability benefits. However, we were wondering if this bursary would fall under social assistance. It is a bursary program for adult part time students who need some income support to go back to school and finish a high school diploma.
The program is through Alberta works which I believe is a tax payer funded program? Could someone please clarify if she can or cannot be applying for this benefit while we have our application in process? Would it hinder the applications decision?
