i applied last april 14 in an agency for canada. i already done with my pre-medical examinations, but because i have a history of mptb last 2005, it took me long just to get a clearance because everytime i got an xray, scar always shows up. so i always have to bring my old plates to pulmonologist and have saliva tests for the clearance. my pre-medical resulted to "fit-to-work" but when i get back to the agency last may18, when i'm supposed to give some documents for completion, i got really frustrated when one of the coordinator told me that they cannot process my application due to the "new policy" that they were implementing right now, that applicants with medical history cannot be accepted. that they were like forcing me to pull-out my documents. they gave me a withdrawal letter which i did not sign because upon reading that letter/waiver, it says that im the one who voluntarily withdraw my application/documents for my personal reason which i think was wrong because they are the one who wants it. and noted that the "med-history issue" was not tackled during orientation. i even told them if they could give me a letter saying that they discontinue my application due to that grounds, then i will accept it. but they didnt issue one. i could easily accept it if the medical result shows im not fit to work.
instead the supervisor talked to me. just had same conversation. i explained that after i already got my clearance from their accredited diagnostic center they will just bumped me like that which is very frustrating and discriminating. noted that on previous batch, they were accepting applicants with medical history also.
at the end, the supervisor kept my credentials and emphasized that they were the one who have the power to endorse an applicant to employers which i understand and i have least chances to get the job. so most likely, they will just keep it until i withdraw my papers..
just felt helpless..

is there any chances i could work in Canada.?

If you provide some more information, there may be some who can help you. Explain clearly what you mean by "mptb". What "agency" are you talking about? Where do you live now? Have you applied for Federal Skilled Worker 1 immigration, if so, what stage are you at?
I am trying to guess from reading your post and I am wondering if you have come in under the Caregiver programme. If so, and you are being unfairly treated, there is a direct line you can now call. I hope the following information helps. Please let us know.
HOTLINE NUMBER: Toll Free 1-866-372-3247 I hope you are able to find the answers your need soon. Good Luck.

In addition to the information packages, we will be opening a new federal, dedicated Live-in Caregiver hotline that will be established 24-hours a day for people to call for help and guidance.

We have also created an agreement between CIC and Human Resources and Social Development to allow for fast-track emergency issuing of new work permits and Labour Market Opinions. This means that if a caregiver is in an abusive situation that she needs to leave, she will no longer be stuck for months and months searching for a new employer, getting a Labour Market Opinion, and getting the work permit as the clock ticks on her three-year maximum to permanent residency. Now, under the new provisions, she will be able to get a replacement Labour Market Opinion and work permit within three weeks.

Today's announcement builds on recently proposed changes to the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, of which the Live-in Caregiver Program is a part, which introduced penalties for employers who fail in their commitments to their employees. We announced those changes in October, and those changes say that if an employer abuses the terms of the contract or the work permit; they will be penalized, they will be sanctioned.

We are now working together between the federal and provincial governments. The provincial government is responsible for labour market enforcement, and the federal government is responsible for work permits and Labour Market Opinions. If the province identifies to us an abusive employer who told the caregiver to do things that they were not supposed to do—to work too many hours, to live in sub-standard conditions, for example—that employer will lose the right to sponsor or get a new work permit for a replacement caregiver in the future. We are creating a black list of bad employers, and they will know they can no longer exploit people as they have in the past.

hi!

i lived here in manila philippines. i applied at Mercan Agency where i applied as a food counter assistant position in canada. undergone the screening tests then pre-medical examination wherein i also passed. when i get back in the agency, they were telling me that they had this new policy not accepting applicants with medical history. i had a minimal ptb last 2005 and already healed after a 6months treatment.

my point is that i shouldn't pushed it through if in the first place, it was discussed in the orientation. second, if i'm not really fit to work, their referred diagnostic center should have quote me as "unfit to work for canada" if it was really the policy, even though i have an xray and sputum clearance. third, i have a friend who also has the same case like me, she's waiting right now for her LMO. added the fact that only middle east countries has this GAMCA agreement that they were not allowing persons with medical history to enter their territory. lastly, why they didn't issue me a letter of discontinuance of application if it is really according to their rules and still kept my documents?

it's not just the money spent but the time and effort given to fufill my dream of working there. just felt like its the end of my dreams.. just felt helpless.. i dont know where to ask help.. :(
