I'm a new immigrant here in BC just came from philippines last april 2. I'm preganant right now already 33 weeks. I'm Single and my boyfriend was in the philippines. I just wanna ask. If i gave birth can I use the surname of my boyfriend eventhough we're not married? What should I do? Please help me. Thank you so much. Godbless

You can give your child any name you want. You complete information for Birth Certificate online. It will ask you information on both Father and Mother's name and date of birth and current address. No Document is required. However, when completing Birth Certificate online it will ask you information about the Hospital where the Baby was delivered - such as Name of Hospital, the Doctor who delivered it, the height and weight of the baby at birth etc.
