Hi All,

This is my first post. I have been working full time in Canada since Sept 2011 and planning to file my PR application under CEC category.

I already have my English test results, but I had a few questions regarding my application:

1. Do I need to submit a police Clearance letter along with the application or can I do it later? I am in no hurry so would it make sense to wait for the PCC to arrive?
2. Also, my birth certificate is in Punjabi - do I need to get a new one made in English? Also I have Birth / Character Certificate from my School would that do, along with my non-english actual Birth Certificate
3. All my education was in India, do I need to submit any transcripts?
4. Do I need to provide any Out of Canada work experience letters?

This is all that I can think of for now, but I am sure I would need more help.

Looking forward to your assistance with the current concerns.

Thanks in advance.

Eshan

1. You can submit your PCC later but if you are in no hurry you can wait for it and then submit your application.
2. You need to submit your birth certificate in Punjabi along with an English translated copy from a notarized authority. Character certificate would not suffice.
3. No educational transcripts are required for CEC.
4. No. You only have to provide experience letters of work experience in Canada.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Jasleen. It surely helps.

Do you know where can i go in Toronto to get a punjabi certificate made and notarized?

Thanks,

Hi All, I had another question:
I have my PCC now from India and I was told by a friend to get a PCC from RCMP too. Can you confirm if I need to Get that too before I file the application?

Also, Since I will now prepare the application can you tell me if I need to attach any cover letter to my application?

Also, do I need to get all my documents notarized or just the translated Birth certificates?

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks,
Eshan Kochar

RCMP: I have seen people getting RCMP request in later stages of application processing. My suggestion would be to submit it along with the application or sometime soon after submitting the initial package.

Cover Letter: If you have Employment letter & all the other documents requested in the checklist, there is no need for a cover letter.

Notarized Docs: Only if something is being translated to English and not in its original form. That is my understanding.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the help guys, I got the police clearence from my country as well as from Canada.

The only thing that I am stuck at is Birth certificate translation:

Thanks Omshri for suggesting all languages.com, but they sound pricey.

Can anyone suggest me some other reasonable certified translator. Also, Do I need to get this notarized too or just a certified translation will do?

Thanks,
Eshan Kochar

If you have problems in getting your BC translated try getting a new one from Canada through the BLS services within Canada.
