Husband arrived as PR 6 years ago.

Child was on the original application but did not travel or become PR at that time .

Child is now 18 years old. She is currently in Canada on visitor visa. We want to apply for sponsorship now. Inland an we want to ensure we do it corrrctly so she has the option to apply for a work permit.

When starting the application, I am not seeing anywhere that specifies “inland”

Can someone please help!

Thank you

There is no inland sponsorship for minors. You just apply as Outland.

Thank you for this fast response.
Will she still have an option to apply for a work permit.

Lastly, it asks her to list her travels on form IMM5562

She arrived in Canada on December 2025 but it asks when she left… she is still here and writing that “present” isn’t an option..

No she has no option for a work permit. Once PR she can work.
If she is in Canada then that is not on her list of travels. She is in Canada because she didn't leave. Ask a professional for verification.

Would add that it could take around another year to process the sponsorship where she won’t have the ability to work, study, may not have access to healthcare depending on the province, etc. They will also have to try and extend her status as a visitor at a certain point. It may not make sense for a child to do nothing for around a year waiting for sponsorship to be processed. Returning home may be a better option.
