Need help with my vacation to holland

Hi,

So I'm going on vacation to holland on the 15 of january. My PR card is expired and I have been trying to renew it. they send it back to me because there was an issue with one of my documents. So I send it back to them and now its showing in progress on the website.
Issue is that i'm worried that it won't get here in time.
I have called the people from the cic site and they tell me to get a travel document but I hear everywhere that it can take a few weeks. I am only in holland for 2 weeks. Also it asks me to send my passport with the application but I wouldn't be able to board the plane to holland without. So I can't apply till I get to holland.

What other options do I have, Can I get someone to mail the pr card to holland?

You must wait until you're in Holland to apply. I believe the visa office you would need to mail your passport and PR TD application to is in Austria or Germany (not sure which one). Since you must mail your passport, wait for them to process the app, and then mail it back to you, it can take a couple weeks for everything. It could be done quicker, or it could be delayed and you would end up needing to delay your flight home until you have your passport back and PR TD in hand.

Alternatively you have a few other options:
1. If someone receives your PR card at home, they can courier it to you in Holland. However this is definitely not guaranteed since the PR card may not come during the time you're there, OR CIC won't even mail it and instead may ask you to come pick up the PR card in person at their office
2. Re-route your flights to fly instead to USA, and you can then drive across land border into Canada. For this just your passport and expired PR card are enough for CBSA to allow you entry

Why would CIC need your original passport? Are you really sure they asked you for your original passport?

PR Travel Doc must be physically placed inside your passport by CIC.

True, that original valid passport is required for PRTD. I though CIC is asking for original passport for pr renewal application.

This statement was not too clear to me. This person can go to holland and then apply for PRTD and then send the passport for PRTD which may takes days to weeks. However, this person can be able to board the plane to go to holland if the passport is visa exempt and only require PRTD to come back to Canada. I suppose you can't apply for PRTD if the person is in Canada.

OP was asking specifically if they can apply for PRTD from within Canada before going on their trip, which of course is impossible.
