Hi Folks,
I need advice base on your experience . I'm married in the Philippines but our marriage didn't workout. When I came here in Canada I file divorce. Now i had my fiancé and I want to remarry but I can't get married in the Philippines because of my past.For sure I have my record on their database if I try to get Cenomar. And we decided to get married in Hongkong to save money and more easier than to file annulment in the Phil. The question is if I don't registered my marriage cert.in NSO do I have a problem to sponsor my husband?? Do the Canadian Embassy in the Phil. will ask for my record too? thanks

CIC is aware of the issue with divorce in the Philippines. As long as you are divorced legally in Canada and list your previous marriage/divorce on the application, you can sponsor your fiance once you get married.

They probably will ask for your record, you could even include it upfront to save time. It's the divorce paperwork that matters in this case.
