Hi, I applied for my study permit extension before my original study permit expired in November 2020 and have maintained implied status since then. My studies have ended now and I still haven’t received my study permit extension and was wondering if there is something more that I can do or need to do? I am tired of calling IRCC and their response is the same that all i can do is wait and must cease working. I can apply for work permit but can’t work and it’s already been 10 months since I applied for my extension. Not sure how should one survive? Can anyone help me and suggest any good ways to get this sorted?
Also, that my studies have ended now, what happens if they reject my application? It’s been more than 10 months and there is no update at all on my application.

Did you apply for extension in June 2020 and your SP expired in Nov 2020 making it 10months? As long as completed your studies, go ahead and apply for PGWP and while you are waiting for final decision on your pgwp, you can work full time with “implied status”.
The only issue i see in your case is having two separate temporary resident applications and incase when your study permit extension is refused, that leaves you without status and you need to apply for restoration. Its a tricky situation, consult immigration lawyer

Thanks for the update; they said that I can apply for pgwp but can’t work till i recieve the document, can only continue staying in the country as my study permit hasn’t been approved yet.
Thinking that I should apply for restoration of my sp and apply for pgwp but will have to wait to work unfortunately, for all I know that could be another 10 months, this is bad.

Just wondering why you waited 10 months? Why you did not submit webform when processing times already passed?
