Need Help: Returning to Canada- before receiving the PR card.

Hello Folks,

Still in devastation of losing my dad. But now I need to live up to his dreams and passion and I need your help.

I am in a crisis. I landed in Toronto on 16-JUL-17 and as soon as I got the bad news last week on 22-JUL-17, I immediately went to the Pearson Airport to inquire if I can leave as there's a family emergency. They mentioned that I can leave immediately, however to return back, I will need to apply for a visa from the home country and then return.
Now I would like to initiate the process to return back to Toronto in 1 month or so.
I am totally blank and unclear of what I need to do now. My husband advised me to post this here. Can someone please help me? I desperately need help.

I hope I was clear in explaining my situation. Please do let me know if you need more details to analyse this situation to advise me the best possible way.

You need to apply for a PR travel document: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/travel-document/

Alternatively you can fly to the US and then enter Canada by land in a private vehicle using your COPR.
