Hello everyone,

I will try to keep this as short as possible. I just have a few questions I am hoping someone will clarify for me. I have tried calling CIC many times to which they says they are experiencing an above average amount of calls and no agent is available to speak with me.

1. I applied for PGWP in June (the day I got my transcript from Uni.) but my study permit expires in September. The processing times have changed and it seems like it will take until the end of September before I get it (if I get it). I want to CLARIFY that I can stay IN Canada while I wait for this permit and don't need anything during the period of expiry and waiting, right? i have a BRITISH PASSPORT if that makes any difference.

2. Am I able to travel WITHIN Canada (e.g. to B.C) for a week while I am waiting for the work permit (either while my study permit is still valid or even if it has expired and I am still waiting for the PGWP)?

I hope that all makes sense. I wish these application processes wasn't so stressful, the waiting is driving me crazy.

Thanks to All who respond!

1. Yes - you can remain in Canada.
2. Yes - you can travel within Canada.

Hi guys. I would really appreciate some help on this since I believe my situation is very unique.
I was doing Masters from Queen's University.
My study permit expired 2015Aug12. I just finished and defended my thesis on 2015Aug28.
I understand that in order for me to apply for my PGWP i need to apply for the restoration of my status. But I have a few questions.

1. Do I apply for PGWP and restoration together in one package?
2. How can I apply for the restoration of my study permit since I have technically graduated? Or do I apply for restoration of some other status? Please advise.
3. Also since I defended after my study permit expired does that mean that I studied "illegally" and will be kicked out of Canada? I'm freaked out. Please tell me what I can do.
