Dear All,

Down below is what is written on my online status for My PR renewal application, i received this new update before 2 days ago:

We received your application for a permanent resident card on XXX.
We started processing your application on XXX.
We transferred your application to the local CIC office on XXX The local CIC office may contact you.
We sent you a letter on XXX about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.
We returned your application to the Case Processing Centre on XXX. The Case Processing Centre will continue to process your application within the normal service standards.

Can you please verify what does that mean and is my application still under process or rejected?
What do they mean by normal service standards? Do you think this is bad or good news?

just curious,

1) did you apply for Regular processing or Urgent processing ? And;

2) what region of Canada did you apply from ?

If you applied as an "Urgent processing" case, did you give proof of travel tickets purchased for travel in the near future? (when you applied in may 2011)

This is confusing, you mean to say that you had to cancel your "urgent travel plans" as you clearly dont have your PR card yet after renewal.

Adam2000 didn't meet PR residency requirements when he submitted his urgent processing request. I believe he's also out of the country right now and has been refused a travel document. (Or maybe he's managed to obtain an approved travel document now.)

Hi Adam2000 -

Sorry - I don't know what you should do.

I think you face a tough situation because you filed the application to renew your PR status without meeting residency requirements - and then left the country.

Hopefully someone else will be able to help.

His only option is to appeal to the IAD, he would have been given the instructions when the TD was refused. He better hurry, as he only has 60 days I believe after the refusal.

Pretty sure the TD was refused back in August...

Unfortunately, I didn’t appeal the decision because I consulted the immigration consultant, and they informed me you have slim chance to win the appeal.

PLEASE tell me whats my chance to retain my PR.

i am realy confused and frustrated, because as you know i spent a lot of time for this issue and now i am going to lose everything.

PLEASE PLEASE help me and let me know if there is anyway to keep my PR

I think you have just made too many mistakes. I am not hopeful that you can save your PR now. Your first mistake was not meeting the residency requirements. Did you at least have a good reason not to?

Then you got into Canada before your PR card expired but you left again. If you had stayed in Canada at that time and if you had not applied to renew but quietly just lived in Canada for 2 years, you would have kept your PR. You could then have applied to renew your PR card without a worry in the world.

By applying for a PR renewal and citizenship without meeting the residency requirements, you are also attracting the attention of immigration. You are basically inviting them to revoke your PR.

And once you left Canada and applied for a travel document to get back which they refused as you don't meet the residency requirements, I believe you have sealed the fate of your PR. I believe they will now revoke it.
