Need help on appliying express entry

Hi friends,

I am ganesh from india pondicherry.
I am an M.Tech degree holder and having 3 years of experience as a software developer.

I want to know the full process for appling canadian permanent residents.
Can i apply on my own or i should apply through imigration consultancy

dont need to to go for immigration consultation. From canadavisa forum, you can get all info.

Step 1, Get a passport , make sure the address on passport should be your current residing address, also make sure you have last name , surname field in passport not blank.
Step 2, Get IELTS exam and get WES report (evaluation of your educational qualification) .
Step3 Once you are done, create EE profile at CIC website , it will tell you your scores based on several things suxh as age,ielts band, job experience,marital status etc, if you are having less than 460 sores, apply for state nominations such as OINP . it will add 600 points to your profile and then you will get ITA

Thanks for guidance and highlights the things to take care of.
However, can you help me knowing if the Marital status also need to be updated.
As in, I got married 3 years back but the marital status in my passport is Single.
Same is in my wife':s passport.

Do I need to get that updated before applying to ECA or EE?

Please help!

Ofcoz it needs to be updated,

See, on your passport, every thing should be correct, otherwise problems will arise at later
