Hi Everyone,

I have been wait for more than 3 weeks for the RCMP CRIMINAL RECORD sending from Ottawa RCMP. I called local police satation where i did the fingerprint to ask the status for my application, they just ask me to call the Ottawa RCMP or sent the email to them, that's it and nothing else they can help me out. I tried to call RCMP Ottawa at least more than 15 times and no one answers the phone call( Voicemail box is full as well). Meanwhile,i sent the email to them 1 week ago, could not get any reply from them. Now,I am worrying about that Canada post may lost my record and as submitting deadline is approaching,I decided to order ANOTHER RCMP record from the local fingerprint center, and i asked them to mail it to my friend's address at Toronto and then I will ask my freind to use the fastest Fedex courier sending it to me in this way will be much more fast to getting it. However, they told me that the RCMP OTTAWA will not send the report to any other address except my current mailing address. Dose anyone have silimar experience ,plz kindly advice. Thanks in advance.

My friend is currently facing a similar situation. There is no way she is able to track where her courier is currently.

The PCC has been re-sent back to RCMP last month due to incorrect mailing address and when she had reached out to RCMP they have suggested her to self attest a photo ID mentioning it is indeed herself requesting to re-send the PCC.

Its been over a month since she has been waiting. However, in your case IRCC has requested for the document and I assume you have a specific deadline to submit.

I suggest you to re-give your fingerprints and "ENSURE" your mailing address is accurate this time and I am sure IF you do not have any criminal records, you will receive the PCC in 5 business days.

No one help?

How long does it usually take? I think you need to be patient.

I applied for RCMP PCC twice and both the times it took exactly 5 business days from the day I provided my fingerprints.

There is no harm in re-doing the finger prints. The only pain you are going through is spending additional $45 and time to travel.

I suggest you to do the fingerprints again in an acredited service. I did mine at Comissionaires, it was fast, and I received it in Vancouver in 8 work days. Check if everything is correct in the form they give you to sign.
If sonething goes wrong and you reach your deadline, upload this form with a LOE explaining everything and ask for an extension to receive the criminal check

I second Patica.

Even I did my fingerprints at Commissionaires, Hamilton and got it in 5 business days.

Hi Patica,

Where is Comissionaires? I lived in Vancouver. Thanks.

I am in the same boat. It's been 3 weeks I applied for the rcmp and haven't got anything . I will wait this week and get a new one from some other agency next week.

Hi nshakelly,

Thanks for your reply. I live in Vancouver, I think IT should takes longer time than you as you live in Ontario. I am going to order another one.

Hi nshakelly,

I double checked the mailing address with local RCMP where I applied, it is accurate.

I don't think it's the canada post . Its the rcmp itself taking time .

It is clearly mentioned that typically they complete your background verification within 72 hours of your application and the postage takes additional time.

However, if there is anything suspicious on your file then it may take up to 120 days. If your address is accurate and there is no mistake by the courier, I am not sure what is delaying RCMP unless there is something wrong in the background (which I hope is not the case).
