Hi,

I am currently working full time after graduating. My work permit is until 25/03/2019, and my visa is until 24/03/2019. I studied 2 years full time and should have been granted a 3-year working permit. However, since my passport expires in 25/03/2019, they give me the working permit until that period. On the working permit, at the bottom of the page, there is a disclaimer/note that says something like "Expires with passport". I cannot renew my passport before applying for the PGWP because if it is not within 1 year until expiration, I cannot renew. So I applied and got only 2 year work permit. My question is: Can I extend my work permit an extra 1 year after I renew my passport in 2018? I have already applied for PR via OINP, they received my application in July 2017. Thank you.

Yes you can extend your PGWP after renewing the passport. Make sure that you use paper application and apply via mail. Good luck!
