We have a Marriage Certificate from the local mosque, the same is registered with District Collector Office in our home district with proper stamp and entry no, do we need to apply for a proper marriage certificate from a govt authority?

I have my wife's name on my passport under Spouse details but since my wife's passport is old(issued before marriage), it does not include my name under Spouse. Do we need to update the details?
