my boyfriend and i met online...and he already came to visit me this year and he's planning to go back next year, hopefully we will have documents ready to get married.
my family doesn't know about it for they are not quite supportive of us (children) leaving the country, let alone be married to a foreigner...i am legal of age and more than 25 yo so i can really marry whoever i want...
but will this affect his sponsorship or my application for residence? i believe that as long as the authenticity of our marriage is proven/all documents are provided, no need to be interviewed, right?

can someone enlighten me?

If you are legally married in your own country, and it doesn't conflict with Canadian law, it will be recognised by Canada. It doesn't matter that much if your relatives do not approve, as long as you can demonstrate that the marriage is genuine and not entered into only for immigration purposes.

The Visa Office will decide if they want to interview you and there is little that you can do to prevent it. All you can do is make sure that you offer them as much evidence as possible of a long term, genuine relationship.

There is lots of advice here on the forum, so I suggest that you read a lot.
