Don't make things utterly complicated.

As long as he submitted the application to extend status (IMM 5710) he's fine.

Just wait till request for the extra fees or application to be returned.

If he done the questionnaire correctly, it will ask him for the correct fee amount. If he don't pay enough fee because he lied in the questionnaire, his application is very likely to get rejected outright and waste all the waiting just to do it again, what's the point? Wanna gamble your 30 days of time on the officer's mood? be my guest.

hi thank you...yes ive submitted the application to extend status (imm 5710)... and i answered everything and submit everything... but when it comes to payment it only shows work permit $155 cad...ive been waiting for the open work permit holder fee but it didnt show up on my application...and i only paid $155

This is exactly why you have to redo the questionnaire, because you lied on that question to get you through the first time. You just need to answer your questions truthfully, it will give the option for a "Work Permit", not "Open Work Permit", but in the end you will end up fine after you filled your forms.
